Very Silly and Fun!
These books were a hit with my 5 year old! The length is perfect (15 pages each), the pictures are fun and silly, and the stories are creative, especially for early readers which are usually pretty dull. Comprehension questions are given on the last page. The books measure approx 8”x5” and come in a handy storage box. Pictured above are three books at the E, G, and J levels to see the progression, as well as the fun pictures. Would highly recommend these!

The best readers!
These books are so much fun for my 1st grader, and right at the perfect reading level for him. My 3rd grader loves to read them, too. The content is engaging for any age, and my younger kids really enjoy these being read to them. Most “readers” are pretty boring and repetitive, but these have silly characters and visuals as well as educational stories - the perfect mix for us. I hope more like this come out!

Amazing!
My son LOVES these books. The pictures are engaging and funny and he can't wait to read them. We included these in our reading program for homeschool and he gets excited every time he 'levels up' . Love the questions at the end of the story to check comprehension and to build onto our conversation about what we've read. Having sight word review at the end is also very appreciated. Would recommend/buy again.

Great collection!
Our son is in first grade (USA) and theses are challenging enough for him to learn with but not too much to make him lose patience. He does memorize them fast though but still enjoys them, hence why we have a few different types to rotate with.

Great set for 1st-2nd grade!
My son loves these books. He is 6 and in first grade. Some of the words are more challenging for him, but he is working his way up. These books are interesting and any kid that loves animals will love these books. I like the review at the back of the books.

Great for beginning readers
I bought these as a preschool graduation gift for my 5 year old who is a pretty good reader already. At first I bought the kindergarten box, but they seemed like he would outgrow them pretty quickly, so exchanged for these so he could grow into them more. So glad I did. He is already able to read them pretty well with some guidance. It helps to look at the words in the back of the books before reading them. There are some trickier words that are not easy to sound out or popular sight words, but he is able to figure out most words with help. They have different level books, so we started with the lowest (E for this box) and are working through them. They were organized me by theme rather than level, so we just arranged it how we needed it. I am sure these will last much longer for him than the kindergarten box did.The pictures are bright and colorful and take actual photographs of animals and make them fun and silly by making it look like they are doing funny things. Like an elephant wearing sneakers or riding a bike. They really hold his interest.Great price for this many books over just buying individual easy reader books.

Above the first grade reading level.
These books will probably be a bit more interesting for my 6 year old granddaughter. She still can’t read them. As a lot of the words are a bit above her learning level. Her 8 year old sister loved them more. Hopefully she will soon learn enough phonics to learn to read them. They just weren’t quite what I was looking for.

Great 1st grade set!
This was the perfect set for my first grader! There were some easy books (level E,F) since we got it about a third of the way in, but these are still great for pleasure reading without being too easy like most of the ones we had from our kindergarten sets…and some just right books to last him the rest of the year, and probably into the beginning of 2nd grade. The set includes 4 E, 2 F, 3 G, 2 H, 3 I & 2 J books. My only complaint would be that I’d like a slightly more even distribution of levels, but there are probably some who are glad to have 4 level Es right from the start so they have more options until they are ready for higher levels so that may just be a personal preference, and for about $1/ book I can’t complain! 😁

Awesome stories with one non-trivial downside
My son LOVES these stories, and the pictures and layout of the books are fantastic. You can definitely appreciate the progression across levels and the potential for learning interesting facts about the creatures involved. My only issue -- and it's no minor thing -- is that the font that's used for nearly all of the words in the book is very strange and at times extremely difficult to read. For instance, lowercase "a" and "l" are quite odd, with the latter looking almost liked a reversed lowercase "j". This seems like a big oversight for a book series aimed at relatively beginner readers.Maybe there's hope for a re-print with a better font - until then, I'm disappointed enough to write a review here to warn others, despite the otherwise high quality content.

returned
Coming from Scholastic, I expected much better. The font used in this set is so hard to read that I returned the books. The books themselves are not amazing, either, just a compilation of silly animal photos and stories that I didn't think were super-amusing for kids.

Great set to support literacy
This set is really great ! The stories are well written and the illustrations are very good. My daughter absolutely loves them! Funny and entertaining reads and lettered for literacy difficulty.
