Great features and warranty, but Ethernet ports unusable
First, I love Tripp Lite's warranty and customer service; it's the only brand I buy anymore because if the product ever fails, Tripp Lite will replace it.This model has great features and reliability with one EXCEPTION: the Ethernet ports are so slow that they are unusable. My thought was to use this model to protect my streaming media box (example: Amazon Fire TV) from a power surge through the Ethernet wiring. The result was constant buffering. The surge protection appears to result in unusable streaming performance issues.I contacted Tripp Lite support and here is part of the response I received: "Most (but not all) current Internet and Cable Service providers don't usually support surge suppressors in line with their data line connections. The reason is because going through a surge protector can cause response time issues (ping) and can cause load times and time outs when attempting to stream. At times when speeds get too fast outside of the support, the unit will usually lose packets and this will cause loading issues of any page."I used the Coax ports for a roof-mounted antenna without any issues.

Nice, but overkill for my use
Purchased the eight outlet model and was very pleased. Repurposed that item for audio equipment when I decided I required more capacity for future expandability of my computer peripherals - then I promptly downsized. Doh - didn't think that through.Plenty of room for power bricks and capacity for lump in the line Switching power supplies. Did not use the COAX connections based on previous experience with a competing brand (have more trust in Tripp Lites implementation.) Signal degradation was too frequent an issue in past experience. Now I've eliminated the COAX run upstairs too. Ha!Find it fits inside a a D-Line Cable Management solution, but be wary power bricks can make it a tight or impossible fit into such a solution. Going to swap this model out from my immediate laptop and peripherals to other home electronics where better use can be made of the multiple outlets.

Super Surge Protector Power Strip
Lots of sockets - some small for regular plugs and some large for those pesky big electric plugs. Includes a coaxial cable connection for satellite input and phone connection to protect from power surges along the phone line. Nice status lights and an on/off switch with a 6 foot cord. Great lifetime warranty as well. We have around a dozen power outs each year and this is an essential unit to protect our expensive electronics. Very satisfied. The only issue I had with it was the phone line connection - it was a very tight fit and I had to use pliers to remove the phone jack - risk of damaging the phone jack if you have to remove it - I got the jack out without damaging it with the pliers.

Nothing but TRIPP LITE for me !
Its kinda tough to review a surge protector without it actually experiencing a surge. Its pretty much what you see in the picture as far as the layout. I was disappointed that it had phone jacks instead cat-whatevers, but that was my fault. BUT....... I have to review TRIPP LITE in general. Twice in 4 years I have had surges that were severe enough to destroy some protectors. I had multiple brands at first. In both cases, TRIPP LITE stood behind their words and resolved my problem. No hassle......and quick. Because of this......After the first surge I had, I replaced all but one surge protector with their products. The one I didn't replace was because I paid like $55 for it, and it was also from a well known company and "guaranteed" for life. Funny thing is that when this one burned up as a result of the second surge I had, they gave me a hard time when I tried to get it replaced. Now its TRIPP LITE only for me. By the way, the second surge I had was really bad. Fried outside motion lights, a stove control board, and several dimmer switches in my walls. Nothing that was plugged into the TRIPP LITE protectors had a problem. So, 5 stars for the product, and the company.

REALLY GOOD SURGE PROTECTOR FOR FIOS INTERNET ROUTER, TV ETC.
UPDATE: ONE of these works pretty well, the OTHER one, UGH!! Only three of the eight outlets work. The other five I AM UNABLE TO PLUG ANYTHING INTO FIVE OF THEM! You need a sledgehammer! My fiancee' is a BIG guy and he could not get a simple, two pronged plug for a lamp to plug into any of the other outlets! Sending back! Great surge protector. I just received and installed them, however, they seem to be of good quality. Verizon totally screwed up my Fios install (shocker). Their tech didn't know what he was doing (shocker again). My electrical outlet was not properly grounded and only accepted two-pronged plugs. The nimrod cut the grounding plug off of a cheap-ass, no name power strip and plugged it in and connected the HUGE plug for the back-up battery to it. Over time, we experienced several outages (almost weekly) and the strip started making a weird noise. That is when I noticed the lights on the backup battery did not say "grounded" or "protected" I purchased the Tripp Lite to see if they worked better. I had to purchase a little, grey GFCI adaptor and screw it into the socket to ground that outlet, and accept three=pronged plugs, but it worked and the Tripp Lite says "grounded and protected". I feel much safer with this than the POS Verizon jerry rigged and left me with. This one also has input jacks for phone lines and TV connections.

Gives you warning when it's worn out.
Fits both large AC Transformer plugs and regular plugs. Decent room between plugs. Does not feel crowded when inserting or removing a plug. Haven't had a power surge since I purchased this unit but the indicator lights say that I should be protected. I purchased this unit because it will alert you when the protection circuitry is no longer capable of protection you from a surge - I didn't realize they wore out. It cost me a hard drive to learn that lesson. Over the next little while, I will be replacing my other surge protectors with similar ones that give you such a warning - before it's too late and I fry something else.
