1 star for quality control!!! DODGE DURANGO RT OWNERS!!!
Borla quality control sucks! 1 star for the finish of this muffler. The first muffler came delivered with plenty of scratches all over the muffler, both sides! I wasn't content considering I'm paying for something new and it should look new! Yes I know it will be located underneath my truck but for god sakes check your products before sending them out!!! Photo attached, the muffler that looks the most beat up. Finally received the second unit and this unit wasn't as badly scratched up so I kept it. I did however polish the shit out of this thing with Metal Polish from Chemical Guys and a micro fiber rag. After the cleaning, I went ahead and sealed it with Chemical Guys Hybrid Sealant. I sprayed 2-3 times a day for a couple days to make sure the finish would last me as long as possible in Chicago's bipolar ass weather! The same process was applied to the chrome resonatored tips! This muffler was exactly what my Dodge Durango RT needed! I've had it on for over 2 weeks now and the sound is great! As others have stated, it's a level up compared to stock but not overly aggressive. On cold starts and when you open up the throttle, you know it's there but cruising on the highway you can barely tell. Very minimal drone. I'm sure if I under coat the body, whatever drone is there will diminish. I had a shop install a pair of Flowmaster Super 10's on my truck and the drone became unbelievably annoying! The drone was so bad, people on the 3rd row couldn't join, let alone hear the conversation from up front!!! So after countless time researching another muffler I finally decided on this Dual in, Dual out Turbo XL muffler. Keep in mind the muffler will come as a Pro XS muffler, but it's the same item. As far as a setup goes...I have new 2.5" pipe all the way from just passed the cats to the tail pipes. First it's the Borla Muffler where the resonator suit case was, then immediately an X-pipe, then out the back to a pair of Different Trends 14.5" resonator chrome exhaust pipes. The muffler comes in a stainless steel finish with a free flow design. A notch is located inside in the middle about the size of a silver dollar. This hole was described as a way to even out the flow and sound according to the muffler shop. I wouldn't compare it entirely to an X-pipe which is why I decided to keep mine. I would have located the Xpipe before the muffler but space was limited. Maybe another shop can??? Over all it was a good buy and if I would have known, I would've installed this setup the first time and not the third time and almost $1000 later smdh!!! There's also an option off installing 2 separate units in the rear as well.

Unique sound for a great price.
Well I've had three different mufflers on my 2007 Dodge Charger with the v6 3.5 engine. First I had the magnaflow muffler which was basically a x pipe inside a muffler case and had some drone. Didn't like the sound. Went on to a flow master muffler which is has chambers to produce a decent growl and It sounded wrong for my v6. I then cracked that muffler going over a huge dip so I went to straight dual pipes. Man it sounded LOUD but sounded like a four cylinder import car in high rpms. Fast forward to this week after buying this affordable dual in dual out muffler from Borla. The quality is amazing for this product. Great case welds and has great internals. It technically isn't a x pipe design but there is a decent opening between the two chambers to allow for back pressure to even out when you release the throttle. No popping noise and this sound is close to a high end tuned euro v6 with a low growl. It is the most quiet out of every brand that I've owned but in my opinion the best sounding. It enhances your cars true sound and roots. Don't try to buy a muffler to make your v6 sound like a v8. It's never going to happen. Buy this Borla muffler and prepare for a smooth growl that won't give you and cabin drone or discomfort at any rpm.
