Brass is GONE
I read other reviews and did a 2:1 ratio with 20 volume developer WITHOUT an additional toner. I’ve been wanting to just transition to gray hair after dying for years and I loved how this got me there. I’m sure it’s gonna fade but started a pale steely blue on the lightest parts and nice ashy blonde elsewhere. Will continue to buy and do this until I’m all grown out!

Be prepared with head and shoulders to remove overly blue or purple tones if needed.
I tried using this with out the toner as others did, it did not work, and mostly dyed it darker. I could not get the ashy blue out. I lightly rebleached a week later, still with lots of yellow and orange tones still in my hair (only used 20 developer). With the recommended toner worked great, but I still used head and shoulders a bunch of times (3 to be exact) right after and kept it in the mix in for no more than 10 minutes. I don’t know if the results would be as great if I didn’t, because my hair did turn purple/violet even with the the proper measurements of the pale platinum toner and this one, and Wella 20 developer. It got rid of almost all orange and yellow tones. There is still a tiny bit of yellow/orange in a few spots, but I was determined to not bleach my hair with more than 20 developer, so it came out as best as it could coming from red

YES!! It really does remove orange/yellow brassiness!!
So I’m going to update this review in a couple months when I use this again (this bottle gets you multiple uses - minimum 3). However, I did want to state that YES! it gets the brass out. I used the max recommended amount with Wells T18 toner and my hair was tinted very very silver after. Normally, the T18 toner will leave my hair lavender tinted, so I was surprised! Lol After about 3-4 washes, my hair was a beautiful pale blonde with almost a like very minimal silver sheen to it. I love it now... I didn’t right away, but knew it would fade 👍So, why will I update in a few months??Next time, I’m going to try using it without a toner. I know the directions tell you to use it with a toner, but, I’m a rebel, so I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

Works Great
I was reading some of the other reviews saying that it makes your hair darker or gray. So I recommended mixing a small amount in with a toner. First I used the Schwartzkopf Blondme Bleach Premium Lightener 9+ and the 20 Vol Crystal Devloper. It lifted my dark hair perfectly and evenly with no blotches or uneven tones. I left it on for about 50 minutes and it did not damage my hair. After lightening I toned my hair using a mix of the Blonde Me Steel Blue, Wella Brass Kicker, and Wella Demi-Permanent in lightest ash blonde mixed with the Blonde Me 20 Volume Developer. Results came out perfect and I will never have to spend hundreds of dollars having it done at a salon again. I made my hair a nice bright blonde with without looking washed out and over bleached. I'm actually happier with the color results than what my hairdresser was doing.

Hmm I think it could be great
Here is my before and after.im guess it just pretty much canceled everything because I didn't use a color with it? I just mixed the whole bottle with 6 oz of 20v. Left on for 30 mins . I don't hate it. Brass is gone lol.

Decent temporary replacement between salon visits
I have ombré ends on my hair and dark roots. The ends have been turning an orangish color especially during quarantine when. I can’t go to a salon and get my hair professionally tough up.I have used wella brand colors before (many years ago) so I was Familiar with this brand. This brass kicker absolutely removed the orange isn tone from my hair, and added almost a greenish-blue hint of color on the very ends. I don’t mind my hair darker Ashy tones so it didn’t bother me.Only problem is, by like wash 3, hair is starting to slighting turn orange again.

FINALLY GOT THE BRASS OUT OF MY HAIR!!
This is the secret ingredient. I mixed two caps of this with three caps of the pale silver and six caps of 20 developer (I had to make this mixture twice Bc I have a lot of hair) and kept it on for about 30 minutes. Believe I could’ve left it on for just 10 but I was hesitant to wash it out so soon. I do have a slight green tint but I heard that goes away in a few washes or I can get rid of it using lemon and conditioner? My hair was bleached to a very yellow/orange blonde several times prior to using this product.

Greatest stuff
I have to say I love this brass kicker. It works very well. I have dark hair and highlighted it myself. Some was orange. I ordered this off Amazon as Sally stores around me do not carry this-told me to use that purple shampoo-but what if I went swimming? So this-I used with peroxide as you can use with water as well-but I had a lot of Orange so used it with 20 volume peroxide. It sure took the orange out. Love it. Just ordered some for my daughter who has dark blonde hair but she gets brassy when lightening her hair too. But I just gave it a 4-and this could be my fault- I got another bottle about a month after-which I did not need. It has a monthly subscription I guess. Probably my fault and probably hit the wrong button.
