I had to wait over 6 weeks for this to arrive from the US. Then later it was cancelled and another one was sent and the second one sent out was posted to the wrong address. As for the water wiggler, it's an expensive product for what it does, and there's no switch to turn it off at night to save the battery power after draining out the bird bath water in the evenings. It takes up too much space for my bird bath so there's little space for the birds to bathe. Never seen any of the birds that visit go near it. It's a pity and I really wish I'd never bought it to be honest.

A water wiggler is a requirement for a well functioning bird bath. 1. It runs constantly so that mosquitoes can't land on the water surface to lay eggs - this is a great thing. I saw another review say that this was a downside and they'd prefer a solar fountain to move the water instead. I'm here to tell you - I've had multiple solar fountains over the years. They require eay more upkeep to keep clean and because they can only run when the panel is hot by direct sunlight, they of course stop the water flow for about 2/3 of the day total, resulting in the perfect, stagnant breeding pool for mosquitoes. 2. Moving water attracts birds to drink and bathe way more than stagnant, still water. You WILL get much more bird activity at your bath with this device as opposed to a solar fountain because this one works 24/7. 3. Batteries (not included) are simple to install. I literally change the batteries like once every 6 months. I buy cheap $3 panasonic D batteries at a local discount store and they last forever. 4. Waterproofness - So long as you have properly tightened the gold screw on top to seal the top, it's extremely waterproof. Multiple times over the years, raccoons (I assume?) have tipped the wiggler over overnight, resulting in it being on its side - no damage, works perfectly, just set it back upright. 5. Metal legs - are the metal legs slightly annoying to install? A little. But believe me - it's 0 challenge compared to the YEARS of use you'll get out of this. I've gotten 3 over the years for multiple baths so far. The legs are a total nonissue so long as you simply follow the directions and don't fly off the handle at the SLIGHTEST inconvenience. I LOVE WATER WIGGLERS. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THEM FOR THEIR BIRD BATHS. THEY'RE SIMPLY INCREDIBLE, they WORK to prevent mosquito larvae and attract birds!

Before purchasing I read most of the reviews and was a little apprehensive but after unpacking and installing I know I made the right choice. My bird bath is fairly small but very special to me. It's a concrete cat laying on its back, paws up - where the belly would be is the bird bath. The wiggler is fairly large (oh well, 2 D batteries, what do you expect?) but it looks as if the cat is playing with a ball. In the evening the changing colors look awesome with the flowers on my patio and I love relaxing in my glider, slowing down and admiring how beautiful our world is. The wiggler is continuous functioning unless the base is uneven. The lights turn off after about 3 hours; just enough time to enjoy without being bothersome. LOVE IT! It is now April, 2015, and just got the wiggled out again, still going strong despite getting "dunked" by a racoon. Great investment! It's now May 2014 and I just installed the wiggler into a different bird bath. Still working really well and lighting up at night - been in use since I purchased it! A very good investment! Besides being beautiful this wiggler will also keep the mosquitos from hatching in my bird bath.

I needed something to keep mosquitos from hatching but it had to be an item that would not spray the water out of the birdbath. It also had to be small enough to allow the visiting birds to use the bath. the birdbath is a little over 2 feet in diameter. Another hurdle for me was that the birdbath is in shade much of the day so a solar wiggler would not be a good choice. This device works well and the D batteries last at least a week or more, working 24 hours a day. Changing them is also easy. I am pleased with this solution to my problem.

Works Great! Mine has lasted over 3 years and is still working. I've decided to but another one and give the old one a rest. It served its duty and I'm very happy with the purchase
