Great compass! I need more of them!
I bought one of these to test because my students have a hard time using a compass that doesn't lock. This one seems like it will be harder for them to break them too which is nice. Great metal compass and solves the issues of some compasses and has lead that isn't thin, so it doesn't break constantly.

Not reliable
The lead doesn't stay put because the screw becomes stripped after use. Do not buy.

A Worthy Compass.
I'm really happy with this compass. It has a good, solid construction. The wheel holds its position locked very well. The weight and balance is comfortable and feels right. Best of all, in my opinion, is that there's no plastic.

This is a good little compass
This is a good little compass. It is very good that the position locks into place. It is super frustrating with cheapo compasses that they slip and make it nearly impossible to make a good clean circle. If you need a bigger more expensive compass you will already be well aware of that because it is likely that you are using it for professional purposes.

Hit or miss
If you’re looking for precision this is hit or miss. I love (!!) the first of this brand I purchased to do precise geometric drawings. Bought this time because the original was in packing boxes. This one does not hold position with the center screw slipping. Causes small measurement and drawing errors, and that’s not good for my purposes

The knob that looks like it should tighten the lead just turns freely
Arrived today. The lead fell out. The knob that looks like it should tighten the lead just turns freely. The knob on the other side works properly to tighten and loosen the metal point. Upgraded from one star to two because: Ah - i see the problem - the threadeded stud turns. So the knob, instead of tightening, just turns the whole stud. Maybe a drop of super-glue will help. Yeah, maybe i can fix this brand-new compass.

Great Compass
I've only used it a few times so far. Feels like good quality. Nice and sturdy. Doesn't shift while you're using it so that's always nice! I like that it's simple and all metal.

Great Compass - don't get a plastic one.
Bought this to replace a cheap plastic compass my daughter was using for 7th grade math. This compass works as expected, well worth the $$.
