Cut right through a 3/8 steel I Beam
The media could not be loaded. I bought this saw for this one big job I had making awards / trophys. I needed to make 20+ cuts of 3/8 think 4" steel I Beams. This miter saw made it almost a simple as if I was cutting 4x4. It does come with a multi- material 10 blade, but I switched out to a Diablo metal cutting blade half way into the job to preserve the evolution blade for other uses. It has to be said that this saw will throw out a lot of Sharp metal burrs, the air port is really not designed for that use case. Suggest a metal welding blanket if you care about the area you cutting in.This is really very similar to any other mid range name brand 10" sliding miter saws with the added advantage of a 2500 RPM motor allowing for the use of metal cutting saw blades.

Good and works, but not perfect
I've put off getting this sort of saw for a very long time. Lately I've run into situation that require repeatability and saving time. It is amazing how many time I've needed to do a miter or chop off many of the same pieces. Running from one side of the house to the other to use the old radial arm had been getting old. The Evolution was a solid feeling saw and survived the trip to my door well. Securely packed and was easy to put together with only a few details outlined on the setup sheet. The only issue is the zero of the saw. Given the sliding feature, it will hang a near 1 degree lower at the fully extended and at the minimum position, it is almost above the mark and not always cutting completely. Not found a mention of zeroing it and looking at it, this is a cast in the body arrangement. The stop can be retracted to wards the storage position to cause the drop, but the fully extended position would them be too deep. The issue was the relative distance of the arm to the minimum position and that can't be fixed. I'll make due as it is not the end of the world flaw.

Well thought out design
This miter saw has several thoughtful features and is built sturdy. It has a Soft Start function so it doesn't trip your weak home breaker. The saw is powerful and large enough to cut through 4x4 material. The included blade is all-purpose, but the finishing cuts are not the best on wood (since it tends to drag out small fibers at the very edge of the cut). The angle adjustments have a solid click to them. The backing plate is square and sturdy. The clamp is perfect for more precise wood cuts. The saw head moves smoothly and without any catches. There is a small slot for the Alan Key wrench. The cable loops around in a particular place. Overall I was impressed with this design.

Great investment
I had wanted a metal cutting saw for a while but the prices were a bit higher than I wanted to pay. When this model be came available I couldn’t pass it up, the price was budget friendly. The setup was quick and easy, my only disappointment was that the blade that came with it was slightly warped. I was able to do with the saw all that was claimed. I recommend this model for anyone that’s on a budget or don’t want to spend a ton for the other models.

Great concept, questionable quality.
I do metal fabrication daily. I had the 14" Evo chop saw for years. Only had to replace one blade.( Someone tried to cut stainless ) 1000s of cuts no prob, even cutting 3" solid round bar.Next project had a lot of complex angles, so figured this would be ideal. Got the metal blade for it.10 cuts in it's having issues. Put. 3rd clamp on it. 5 more cuts and blade is toast. No biggie flukes happen. Order another and same thing within 20 cuts. ( 1.25 square tube .125 thick ). Call up Evo, they said it was bad clamping.Only fit so many clamps on this thing.I machined a aluminum guide rail to replace the cast flexy one it came with so you can really camp down and hold stuff. Order one more blade. And made it 25ish cuts. And I'm not just brute force trying to chop it like a tomato, I know how to work it to prevent this kind of thing. If they made this saw in the 14" size I'd buy it. The 10" blades are pure crap. And the laser lense is unless after 30 cuts. They did send me a replacement but still can't see the line.I did a unboxing on this for YouTube about 9 months ago. Coming up on the 1 year review.. not looking forward to it.

Steel Cutting Monster
I purchased this saw basically to use cutting steel, because it will saw through almost anything is a plus. I also purchased the 52 tooth steel cutting blade to go with it. I read a lot of reviews on this saw and the blades that it uses. I have read where some have trouble with the blade loosing teeth. I think the reason for that is some use this machine like a chop saw and it the work piece too hard. So far I've made about 50 miter cuts on 3/16" angle iron without any problem, the blade cuts just like new. Just ease into the work and let the blade do it's job, nice smooth cuts everytime.I really like the smooth start feature on this machine, it doesn't try to yank the handle out of your hand on starting. Strongly recommend connecting a vacuum cleaner to the saw to suck up some of the steel cuttings and wear long sleeve clothes and safey glasses as chips will fly. I also did a few test cuts with the original blade in wood, plywood, oak, and pine. Cut really nice and smooth, clean cuts.I plan on ordering the diamond blade to cut tile, got a couple of rooms that are going to get tiled.I sold a 12" Pro Bosch monster miter saw because I never used it, because it will not cut steel, the Evolution saw is far more useful in my shop, would recommend it to anyone.

I never even opened this one up...
I learned after ordering this that the blade that it comes with doesn't work well with wood. Seeing as in I got this for a multi purpose cutting machine instead of just one type of material, changing the blades from wood to "other" isn't desirable for me. Giving it 5 stars because, we'll, other than that it's supposedly very nice. Returned without opening.
