EXCELLENT Purchase!
My biggest concern was potential damage caused during shipping… (*PSA- Before trashing any of the shipping packaging, inspect every piece for potential damage). Fortunately from inspecting every piece, there was almost no damage at all! With the exception of a few tiny scrapes, the quality of all pieces were at 99%. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow with all parts included. I love this new media cabinet! It stores all the DVDs/Blu-rays/games in a much less exposed & more aesthetically pleasing appearance now. It is quite heavy once fully constructed, so I advise moving it with at least one other person. *Critique for the manufacturers- it would be ideal in the future to include a small amount of padded edge protectors (preferably black), which you could affix on corners/edges of the cabinet, to protect any surfaces that the cabinet doors will bump into when fully opened.

Clear your schedule for assembly day, but worth it.
Got this because we needed something that would look nice, hold up well, not take up too much space, but still hold a ton of DVDs. Worked out well as we managed to fit our entire collection with about a shelf and a half to spare on the bottom. We will likely be getting a second one for our CDs and video games, just trying to decide if we want another full-height version or the shorter one. It also arrived undamaged, so that's a plus, though there's a number to call for the company to send you any missing or damaged parts. I've put together a decent bit of Ready To Assemble furniture in my day, and I'd say this one can be somewhat challenging. The instructions aren't bad as RTA instruction go (possibly because this guy's made in the USA), but not perfect - there is one bit where you need to turn the unit around that isn't really pointed out. As with all RTA you need to stay heads up and pay attention while assembling, especially to where the finished vs unfinished sides are. The roughest part for me was nailing the back on as it needs to be held a few millimeters off the ground and centered perfectly against the unit while you nail the first few nails in. There are also a few times when I had to use some of the inside shelves to prop up parts of the unit (like when attaching the hinges to the doors and main unit) so that things were flush. Plan on this taking up a good chunk of your day to put together. The overall unit, once assembled seems sturdy. The doors in particular are quite heavy, but the hinges do seem adequate to hold them (be sure to stagger them in different directions as the instructions indicate). Even the "cardboard" back seems thicker than what you see on most RTA furniture. If you follow the shelf spacing instructions for DVDs, you'll fit seven rows with no wasted space. Downsides? The only part of this that seems cheaply made is the mechanism that is supposed to lock the left door in place. It's made of plastic and is basically a peg that you're meant to reach in and manually slide up with the left door closed into a small hole in the top of the cabinet. I found it difficult to get the peg to line up with the hole, and when I began to fill the cabinet, quickly realized that I couldn't fill the top shelf as the mechanism protruded into the space needed by the DVDs and I also needed space to reach my hand back there to engage the lock, so, since I really have to need to lock the cabinet, I took this piece off. The keyed lock on the other side works fine, though the keys are a bit rough to insert, although it may just need broken in a bit. Again, though, we don't keep it locked and haven't had issues with the doors randomly swinging open on their own, so this doesn't really affect me. The only other (very minor) complaint is that, other than the permanent shelves, the adjustable ones are pretty thin. They should be fine for my DVDs but I wouldn't trust them to hold up over time with much more weight, like I wouldn't put books on them or load them down with CDs in those super thin jewel cases. Maybe worth noting, I've seen some reviews not happy that the underside of the top isn't finished and can be seen. This is true and the unit is pretty tall, so the underside is exposed. Honestly, though, I can see the underside from where I'm sitting right now and can't even tell because of the way the shadow falls. So, while I can see that might bother some people, I really don't notice. Anyway, overall, very happy with purchase. Delivery was faster than Amazon predicted, and my DVDs are now happily organized in their new home. Downsides?

I purchased this despite some of the negative reviews
I purchased this locker for my retro video game collection despite some of the negative reviews and wasn't really disappointed. The only issues I have with this locker is that once it's put together, there really isn't much of a way to take it apart in order to ship to another area or adjust some parts of the locker already put together. It took myself and my brother about 4 hours to put the storage locker together. Another small thing I didn't like is that when the doors are closed and locked, the left door is closed and sturdy but the right door is a bit shaky and not locked in like the left door. Pay very close attention to the instructions when putting this together, I cannot stress this enough. I say this because while I was putting together the locker and was almost finished with it and had to put the doors in, I noticed I put the (main) middle shelves in wrong even after thoroughly reading the instructions. Because of this, I was only able to put 3 door hinges on both the left and right door instead of 4 hinges. In order for me to have been able to put the 4 hinges on, I would have needed to dismantle the locker from the semi last steps back to the first steps and not only would that not have happened because of the time it took just to almost finish the locker, but it would have been impossible as the locker could not be taken apart due to nails being hammered in to the back to keep the backboard on. The two doors have been holding up well with just 3 hinges, so it's okay, but still bugs me sometimes. I haven't completely filled up the door shelves yet, so I don't know if the weight of it will eventually cause problems or not. I tried to do a small test by putting some pressure on the door and it seemed fine. In order to put this locker together correctly, you'll need a hammer, screw drivers and/or a power drill (for the locking mechanism). Remember what I said about going through the instructions carefully. Not being careful can result in destroying some parts of the locker, such as puncturing a nail on the back of the backboard when trying to nail it into the locker wood which can be tricky sometimes because it doesn't tell you where to hammer the nails in, you have to figure it out on your own. Drilling the screws into the locker for the lock mechanism can also be tricky because the screws can and will most likely get stripped. There is absolutely no other way to put the lock in without the power drill because there are no pre-made holes, you have to create one on the door. I had to borrow one from my neighbor and it barely did the job because I was dumb enough to try to hammer the screw in beforehand, already stripping the screw. This also goes with the left hand door, the second locking mechanism for that door also goes the same way as the right side. In conclusion, pretty good locker if you have a huge collection and want it to look nice and safe, but not worth more than $150.

Arrived well-packaged in two boxes (heavy). Instructions were very clear, and hardware was well-marked. Took me a couple of hours to put together with a hammer and screwdriver - without any help. Very happy with this product!

Went together nicely, all holes lined up perfectly (better than most 'put together' furniture) - I am 73 and put it together myself. Very pleased with the end result

Just over 5' high. Took a bit to put together but, was well worth it in the end. Really like the lock feature. Cabinet is sturdy. Would buy again
