Only one complaint
While I am not a fan of serialized novels, I am a fan of Lucy Score. She writes believable characters facing fairly realistic situations. I don’t think it’s hard to remember actors, athletes, models, or others in the public eye who haven’t faced obsessive fans and the threats to their safety that they can pose. Such is the situation that brings Waverly Sinner and Xavier Saint together. She’s the star and he’s the body guard. While I thought the Sinner/Saint names for the main characters was a bit “too cute,” both characters were well developed and likable. The plot moved along at a brisk pace. My only real complaint is that the story is split between two books.Oh well, I guess if between quit complaining and go get the second book.

4th read, finally time to review. SINNER & SAINT!
20 year old actress Waverly Sinner has a stalker. Her parents - also famous and wealthy actors - have hired Invictus Security to keep her safe through a couple of premiers and events touting her upcoming film release.Former Army Intelligence Xavier Saint is partners with his friend Micah in Invictus, and he's the one who is assigned to keep an eye on Waverly. He assumes (at first) that she's just another vapid celebrity. But he quickly learns that she has hopes, plans, and dreams of a normal future where she can go to college and live in a house of her own.She runs, and he finds her. He denies his attraction, then surrenders to it, and then decides for the both of them that they can't happen. All the while, trying to provoke her stalker into making himself visible, and hoping he can keep her safe. This is a great story and it's my 4th read - I am not always a fan of 2 or 3 part stories with the same main characters, because I'm always jonesing for that happily ever after. But this 2 book series is the exception to my rule. I can't wait to re-read Breaking The Rules, book 2 in the Sinner & Saint duet.

Anotha one!
Easy, enjoyable read;however, I wish it had a more defined ending to the overall story, now I must read the sequel!!!Also, the way Xavier made the whole tragedy of Waverley’s attack all about him was so cringey to read, what a pathetic response, ew ew ew.

Sexy, suspenseful, witty, romantic, hot and steamy. I was hooked from beginning to end.
Crossing the Line (Sinner & Saint #1) by Lucy Score is a contemporary, forbidden, Hollywood romantic suspense told in third person, dual POV. It's the first half of a duet and contains a complete story, although there are parts that remain unresolved until book two.Xavier Saint, co-owner of Invictus Security, isn't too thrilled about his latest assignment as bodyguard to young movie star, Waverly Sinner. The last thing he wants to do is to babysit a spoiled actress, but her parents hired him and a job is a job.Waverly isn't happy about the arrangement either. She's been putting off selecting a new project in hopes of getting out of the celebrity spotlight and going to college like a normal girl. She knows that her parents hiring security is really more about keeping her in line than about her protection.Waverly and Xavier get off to a very rocky start, but as they get to know each other their feelings change and their white-hot chemistry is difficult to ignore. They both try to keep a professional distance, especially Xavier, because he doesn't want to compromise her safety by getting emotionally involved. And Waverly has a dangerous stalker that continues to elude his security team. Eventually and inevitably lines are crossed. Will Xavier be able to protect Waverly? Or will he be blinded by his emotions? Will her stalker follow through with his threats? Can a relationship between Xavier and Waverly survive the public scrutiny that comes with fame? Read the book to find out.I absolutely loved this story! Both lead characters were very likeable and relatable. Waverly was smart, beautiful and down-to-earth with a desire for a normal life. Xavier was a brave, honorable, take-charge, alpha male who would do anything to protect those he loved. The story explored concepts of identity and personal freedom (or lack thereof) as they relate to public image and fame. It was sexy, suspenseful, witty, romantic, hot and steamy. I was hooked from beginning to end.

Crossing the Line
This was a good book and exciting but didn’t like how it ended. Too much left undone, ended too quick. I liked the characters and the story was good.

Fantastic story
Just when you think you know how an author writes, along comes a book which surprises. This book is utterly fantastic. This is fast paced, suspenseful, engaging and hot, hot, hot. As with other books by Lucy Score, I loved the main female character. Waverley is amazing. She is a young woman with an old soul. She is less a movie star more a girl becoming a woman. She is trying to navigate an independent path through a minefield of obligation and expectation. Into the mix comes her new temporary bodyguard Xavier. He is sexy and intense. He takes his job very seriously but is knocked sideways by his feelings for Waverley. When they get together, phew, scorching. I love them as a couple. Which is why I screamed when I realised this book ends on a cliffhanger! Thankfully I only have to wait a month or I may go crazy with the feelings.I also really bought into the suspense element of the story. I was afraid on behalf of Waverley and willing Xavier to neutralise the danger.Where we eventually find our heroes remains to be seen. But I trust the author to continue to deliver a fabulous, engaging story. It is less gentle than the Blue moon series by the author. However, as always you wish the women were your friends and the men actually existed. Believe me, this'll be the easiest 1-click purchase you'll make. 😉
