I noticed that these recipes do a better job than the chemical cleaners
I am honestly surprised with how well these recipes work. I had checked this book out from my local library and started using the recipes right away. I decided to purchase because I was impressed with the recipes, the reference information at the front of the book, and wanted to have this book on hand. I have used chemical cleaners but my daughters are at the age where they want to help me clean and we recently acquired a new puppy. I didn't want them to ingest or breathe in the cleaners. Right off, I noticed that these recipes do a better job than the chemical cleaners. The author includes quite a bit of information on the products used (vinegar, essential oils, baking soda, microfiber towels, etc.) and why they work. I found the essential oil chart especialy valuable. I have hard water, and I found that I could still have really clean surfaces with these cleaners. IMHO, it appears that chemical cleaners leave a residue behind. But with these cleaning recipes that does not happen. I also like how time is very effective for cleaning. Some of these recipes tell you to put the cleaner on your desired surface and let it sit for a certain amount of minutes. It is nice to let the cleaner sit and then come back and all I have to is wipe. Also there was a bit of trial and error to see which recipes worked for me. And because of this, I'm beginning to truly understand the power of simple household ingredients.

cleaning recipes that will also deter insects in your home
Absolutely love this book! It inspires you to clean and clean good! Handy reference to go back to if needed, but once you learn your fave cleaning recipes you will make them easily without thinking too much about it. I added my own notes in there and will always keep certain simple supplies on hand. I do want to add, though it's not talked much about in this book except for maybe one recipe, that using essential oils is also a great insect pest deterrent if you use the right ones for certain insects that you are trying to deter from your kitchen and home. Great bonus of using natural cleaners. I love that in each section with the recipes, there are helpful tips and alternatives to each basic cleaning recipe! Better book than I was expecting, sure you can look recipes up online and don't buy it but it's so handy for all the extra tips and a quick reference for any type of cleaning all there consolidated into one book instead of google searching everything. Looks great on the bookshelf too, nice color and neat looking paperback, will be my little cleaning bible! I added photos to show my quick way of getting to my favorite cleaning recipes in a jiffy, just highlight upper corner edges and they stand out when you flip through book, works out great!

Everyone who loves a spotless home needs this book!!
I have tried many, many of these recipes and I love the results from every one of them.I HATE the smell of chemicals--and, how bad they are for you. One of the worst chemicals found in some cleaning products contain formaldehyde (yes, embalming fluid).Even worse, common household bleach. Bleach exposure can cause irritation in the eyes, mouth, lungs and on skin. Individuals with asthma or other breathing problems are particularly susceptible. It can burn human tissue, internally or externally, especially in small children. When chlorine bleach is mixed with an acid (as can be found in some toilet bowl cleaners, glass and window cleaners, dish detergents, vinegar, and drain cleaners) chlorine gas is given off. Chlorine gas exposures, even at low levels, almost always irritate the mucous membrane and causes coughing and breathing problems, burning watery eyes, and a runny nose. The GOOD news is--the recipes in this book work BETTER than commercial products. Yes, I said better! I was doubtful at first, but after I tried the soap scum remover for my shower, I was a true believer! There are recipes for all purpose cleaners, antibacterial cleaners, laminate floor cleaners, tile floor cleaners, glass cleaners, and the list goes on and on. Another PLUS is that my house smells wonderful. It has totally changed the way I feel about cleaning my house.Buy the book, you will not be sorry!

Lemon and Clove Scrubbing Sauce Anyone?
Due to the fact that my favourite organic, non-toxic and allergy-friendly cleaner is now difficult (and expensive) to obtain, I've decided to start making my own cleaning products and ordered 'The Organically Clean Home' from Amazon after watching a YouTube video recommending it. It's packed full of ideas and gives step-by-step instructions for making a variety of homemade cleaning products using, for example, white vinegar, vodka, rubbing alcohol, bicarbonate of soda, Castile soap and essential oils. I was pleased to see that Ms Rapinchuk recommended using either distilled water (or, as a cheaper option, cooled boiled water) to keep the products as uncontaminated as possible and I particularly liked how the author explained the reasons as to why certain ingredients were used and also gave alternatives for those who might have particular sensitivities. I've made the Tea Tree and Orange Disinfecting Cleaner, Lavender and Lemon Bathroom Disinfecting Spray, Peppermint Window and Mirror Cleaner, and Lemon and Lavender Fabric Softener. I might just go mad and start making my own washing powder (Lemon and Lavender to match the fabric softener) and even loo cleaner (Lemon and Peppermint Loo Cleaning Treatment) - and just in case you might be thinking that I don't have a life, these products take very little effort and time to make :) They also work well and they won't harm the user or the planet - oh, and they smell delicious. Lemon and Clove Scrubbing Sauce anyone?5 Stars.

Super
A conseiller mesdames!
