I'm very pleased.
I bought this DC step down variable voltage regulator to use in a Bluetooth 2.1 wireless speaker system project. The unit is specifically being used to step down a 24v DC power supply (who's main purpose is to power the 2.1 amplifier) to 5v to power a Bluetooth receiver. It powered up off the 24v power supply with no problem. The initial voltage output appears to be set to maximum (mine was outputting 24v, the input voltage). I began adjusting the voltage as indicated on the board and the output slowly decreased to 5v. The adjustment is smooth and not overly touchy. Once the voltage was set, I used it to power the Bluetooth receiver. The voltage output remained stable during my testing. I used earbuds to listen to the output of the receiver (don't have the 2.1 amp yet), and the sound output seemed as clear as when I powered the Bluetooth receiver from a battery (no line noise). I'm not an electrical engineer nor do I have any test equipment more sophisticated than my multi-meter, but based on my observations, the unit is performing perfectly for my needs. I'm very pleased.

What you need
I ordered this for a project that I am doing. It puts out 5v to everything that I needed. I ended up buying another just because of how well it worked and how much I liked it. Very small is pretty well built. My son is not good at solderign and this held up great for a first time soldering. Even when splitting out to multiple components that need the voltage, it works great.

Works perfectly for applications where you'd rather not have a static readout of the voltage.
Most of these DROKs seem to come with the big digital voltage display, which is probably very handy for use on a bench but unecessary and wasteful in an installed/embedded application. This little board let me piggyback an esp8266 at 5v on an existing 24v source that's already in the location, to add wifi control to my ancient garage door's radio-control receiver. Approximately $25 all-in to retrofit a garage door opener I can use from the phone in my pocket that also lets me see if the door is open or closed from anywhere in the world (thanks to a reed switch) is great and all, but one of my favorite parts of the project is that I didn't have to run a dedicated power line across my garage ceiling and down a wall to a permanent wall wart to get it up and running. I will definitely be buying more of these in the future.

It worked perfect
I was looking for a way to step down 12VDC to 3.3VDC for a Home Alarm Notification system I created using a Raspberry PI. While researching options I found the DROK DC Step Down Variable Voltage Regulator. This solution worked perfectly right out of the box. I simply made my connections, turned on my power source and used my mutlimeter to check output. Using the variable adjustment I was able to quickly and easily dial in the 3.3VDC output I needed. The DROK DC Step Down VVR arrived quickly, was easy to use and allowed me to complete my project. Now my home alarm sends me emails and provides system status via a simple web page. I'll likely order a few more for other projects I have.

Arrived non functional.
Wanted to use this to complete a project I was working on to power the Raspberry PI from a 12V source. I was in a hurry to get it so had the order expedited for 1 day delivery. Item arrived looking good but failed to provide any regulation whatsoever - I tried a 12V and 9V input and the output remained constant at about 0.5 to 1.0V below the input, irrespective of the setting on the pot. I returned the item to Amazon and ordered something else to do the job but this delay caused me to miss the timelines I was working on.The item I got did not come with a TI chip. In future I would not buy these fakes. Its not worth the hassle. If this had failed after testing it would have damaged my PI and everything else so i'm glad I found the problem early.

Great item. good space saver!
This made the project so much easier. I was looking at a big head ache of having to redo a lot of work to a bigger project box, but the small size saved the day.

Nice voltage converter!
Works like a champ - seriously. Fantastically stable output; pot stays put when you set it and has excellent resolution for dialing in an output voltage. My use case was converting 12VDC to 3VDC and getting it up and running in that capacity took all of about 30 seconds. (soldered the leads) Board is clean and the arrangement of components is orderly. Will probably pick a few more up for various projects in the future.

Worked perfectly.
Bought it to replace a bad power supply chip on a new Emomo massaging recliner. Of course, Emomo was no help, so I figured out what the problem was, pulled the bad chip and components, and replaced it with this unit. Four solder connections and a couple standoff holes drilled. Works perfectly!

it's nice to be able to select your own voltage output
it's nice to be able to select your own voltage output, nice range of input to output voltages and a nice static 2Amp output. 3Amps if you add a sheild. it is always best to match the input voltage a little higher then the desired output voltage, (less heat is dissipated in the regulator.)
