Review: Best Cutting Board I've Used - Pros: - Solid design made of plastic (this replaced a bamboo cutting board that ended up splitting in half, won't have that problem here). - Comes with two thick plastic cutting sheets with measurements - Extremely easy to clean - Opaqueness on mats and whiteness of board makes any food spots very obvious (which is a pro, since they can be cleaned). Cons: - Plastic mats are only held down by that black "clip" on the top right. They stay in place fairly well, but they would be way more secure if there was a second clip on the bottom left. - The measurements on the cutting sheets have already started to wipe off, and this is after about a month of use and two cycles in the upper part of the washing machine. Frankly, I don't use them that often, but if you're expecting the measurements to stay visible for a while, prepare your expectations accordingly. - You have to dry the mats before you put them back on top of each other, otherwise they'll start to smell moldy. Hasn't been a major issue, but I keep them basically spotless. - Mats do show signs of wear quickly. I haven't chopped through either of them yet (I use sharp knives and sometimes excessive amounts of force), but they are showing chop marks. I don't expect them to live longer than 6-9 months. This is my go-to cutting board now. I have a few other alternatives, but the mats are a major asset. I can remove a mat and use the board for some other dish (i.e. one mat for main dish, one mat for dessert) very quickly and easily. The only other board I need is a large board for rolling out dough (this one is far too small for that). If this board was bigger and had feet for grip, it'd be the only board I ever need. Review: A good buy, but with caveats - I'm not unhappy with the cutting board set, but I suspect my needs are a bit different from other people's, so my praise is qualified. I am a vegetarian, but my dogs and cats have long refused to endorse that part of my lifestyle, so I feed them raw meat several times a week in addition to their regular food. The soft mat for cutting meats is fairly worthless for that purpose, as I can't seem to make clean cuts no matter which knife I use (and I have a lot of knives). I put a bit of muscle into it and still can't get through. But the solid cutting board is fine for that purpose, and both of the flexible mats work fine for vegetables and fruits. The flexible mats work well for a different purpose, too, one that pleases me but may be lost on most people. I have large gardens, and my dehydrator runs constantly in the summer and intermittently the rest of the year. In addition to drying a portion of what I grow, I like to make crackers in the dehydrator. A person can do this using good quality sheets designed for dehydrators, but they're pricey and I don't have any, and parchment paper is a poor substitute. The two flexible polypropylene mats that come with this set are, however, excellent. The problem I encountered before buying this set is getting the crackers thin enough to be, well, crackers. But by sandwiching the dough between the back side of these flexible mats, I can use a rolling pin to get the crackers thin enough to be crispy. I imagine they'd work fine for fruit leather, too, but I've never made fruit leather. So, a mixed bag. The flexible mat for meat isn't ideal, and frankly if I did succeed at cutting meats up on it, I would likely leave the flexible mat so scarred that it would be an ideal environment for bacteria to proliferate. Not so important when your household's only meat eaters are dogs and cats, but I wouldn't use it for meats to be fed to humans. But the solid mat is fine for that, and the flexible mats have other uses. All in all, I'm glad I bought the set.

I like these cutting boards
I like these cutting boards, but I wish I loved them. Part of the reason we bought these cutting boards was for the measurements along the side of the flexible meat and veggie boards. However, after just a few hand washes, the markings are coming off. We can already tell that eventually the marks will be completely gone and then we'll lose the convenience of being able to measure and cut even portions. Also, although the little clip is great in theory, it tends to trap moisture and juices, and we worry about bacteria and such that can become trapped. Most likely, we'll end up using a sharpie to darken up the lines along both flexible cutting boards. Overall, we're pleased with this product, after all, its like 3 cutting boards in one. Definitely a good value purchase.

This cutting board is great! I didn't realize that it was a set ...
This cutting board is great! I didn't realize that it was a set of 3 pieces until it arrived; main board with a rubber latch to hold the other 2 pieces (one for veggies and one for meat) in place while using. Having separate mats for each is just what I was looking for. I love the measurement lines. Until now I would just aim and cut, hoping for the correct size. Perfect fried green tomatoes from here on out! And the company even includes a free eBook with your order. I will be looking to buy my kitchen items from Diced Kitchenware. Love this cutting board!

Nope nope nope. Don't get unless you want to throw it away in a few months. Or be embarrassed by it.
The ruler marks are completely gone on both after less than a month of relatively regular use (3-7 times a week, nothing heavy-duty... just regular old chopping). I never once put them in the dishwasher and only washed them gently by hand. They also look like crap... like I've had them for years and years. All worn, not even see-through anymore since the knives pretty much go right through them (maybe not through them, but deep enough) and they're all curved and bent out of shape. The first time someone saw them they went 'whoa how cool!' Someone else saw them yesterday and said 'what is this.......... thing' and asked if it was garbage. So you could say I'm not satisfied. I mean I will still cut on them, but.... ugh.
