Abdallah Chocolates Dark Chocolate Orange Peel, 6.5 ounce

Jan. 2025. Unlike a few other "dark chocolate over orange peel stick" products -- which may taste similar but not actually contain the orange peel, this product does. It's expensive, but definitely worth it. Ever since the 2022-2023 huge INFLATION in consumer prices, this price is what you will pay else where for the genuine product. Effectively, Abdallah Chocolates Dark Chocolate Orange Peel, 6.5 ounce is $50 a lb. Yes, if you travel to the Lower East Side in Manhattan, to Economy Candy (an excellent candy store), the same product is $28/lb. but add your travel expense, train & subway! Or shipping it knocks it up to about $50/lb. So why not just order it here (unless you live next door to Economy Candy)?

I'm very picky about my chocolate-covered orange peels. Chocolate must be dark and thick. Orange peels must be real (not jelly) and taste strongly of orange. Everything should taste as if they were made in the last 24 hours. These fit the bill perfectly. I received a bag as a present, then ordered another one when that one ran out!

I love chocolate and orange together. These are the most delicious I have ever had. The orange peels are candied perfectly. Addictive for sure!

The chocolate was just ok, but I expected a stronger orange flavor. The flavor was barely orange in taste. The shipping was expensive (I paid it as I thought they had to use ice packs of some sort. Mine didn't have anything like that). Shipping was pretty fast, though. I did eat the whole bag eventually, but I won't buy it again.

These are so delicious. I’m giving them as Easter gifts this year.

I found the chocolate not bitter sweet as should be and there was a lot of crystallization under the chocolate. Strangely terribly over sweet. I am an experienced dark chocolate covered orange peel conesouir and I could barely eat one piece. What a shame, not very good.

These are the best I have ever tasted. I am rationing them to make them last longer but I see a reorder in my future. Pricy but so decadent.

I expect some chewiness with chocolate covered orange peels. What I did not expect was the blandness. The chocolate wasn’t spectacular and the orange taste wasn’t strong enough. It was just an odd mix of tough rinds and maybe average chocolate. Anyway, my taste buds did not go Zing! .Instead, they were disappointed. .
