Great gift for my grandson, he loved it!
Purchased this for my grandson's 4th Birthday and he loved it! Very happy with the quality and affordable price. I like that the flashlight is hand squeeze, no batteries. Unfortunately the bug catching tongs were dropped on the floor (by me) soon after he opened the gift and the plastic piece broke off at the joint and they wouldn't stay together. But, no worries, I hopped on Amazon and ordered a replacement (pictured below) and was very happy with the quality of that product. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this kit if you have a curious 4 year old.

Hours of play
Purchased for Easter and my child has been obsessed since. We use it every spring and summer. Great quality as well. We were gifted another set shortly after and this one was the better quality set so we regifted that one. Perfect for the curious kiddo in your life!

Cute set for kids
My son Was super excited to get this set. He's been using it everyday. He loves that he can look at the bugs up close with the magnifying glass and in the little container with the magnifying lid. A few negatives, the net it comes with is tiny. My fault for not taking a closer look and seeing how small it would be. But you can't really catch anything with it, especially bigger butterflies and dragonflies. I ended up buying him a bigger net that's much better. The weird tong bug catching tool is super flimsy and fell apart after just 3 days... I keep having to snap it back together which is somewhat annoying. The carrying case to hold the bugs in is great, but the door to it doesn't latch well and opens easily letting bugs escape. The hat it comes with fits my son but the elastic string on it is huge, doesn't adjust and gets in his way while he's running around and it bugs him and he takes it off. All in all, it's a cute set and my son still enjoys using it. I paid almost $40 for it including shipping and I feel like it could be a little better made for that price. But it is for kids, so there's that.

You get what you pay for ?
For starters, it’s cheap. So don’t expect anything more than that lol. The cage- the door already broke. The piece that helps the door move has one of the things snap so there’s only 1 holdin the door on (it still works) but the door falls off sometimes which isn’t good if we wanted to go inside. The Binoculars - these will give you headache lol they aren’t focused no matter what you do. They make you see 2. Just go invest in kid binoculars at Walmart in the camping/hunting section. I already have some and they’re better so I’m not upset about it. The net- it gets caught on surfaces like wood aka houses and trees so if you’re going up high to catch a bug off the house or tree you have to be extra careful so a bug doesn’t fall on your head because you got stuck. The compass - you need to be perfectly aligned to get it to work …. That’s something my 5 year old can’t do (sit still) lol The bug choppers workers well although flimsy but my son and I both caught moths and had fun. All in all it’s a decent purchase and we had fun. But I’m going to invest in a different bug catcher set. But I’m not going to return this because it was just $20
