WOW does not Come Close. Little Giant is Fantastic!
In an earlier life, I would purposely seek the cheapest ladder available regardless of any other factors. Yesterday with great thanks has passed and common sense replaced my cheapness. I have 6 step ladders in our garage and while each has some specific reason for existence, all are safe, sturdy, functional and by some standards a terrific value. A terrific value does not mean expensive. This Little Giant is the perfect indoor ladder for those jobs that last a few minutes when replacing a light bulb or several hours when replacing a ceiling fan or light fixture. Adding to its sturdy construction is a what I would call a 90º angle for climbing all four steps. Most other ladders do not have a high angle, the deep steps and most Brand X makers advise the users to avoid using the top shelf as a step. The steps have wide and deep steps that work well for all. At the top is a safety handle to help steady the user. It has a nice compartmentalized tray to hold tools, nuts and bolts. This ladder is sturdy in the same way that War and Peace is a long read. While I miss the maximum suggested weight (now) by right much, it holds me with ease and my attempts at rocking it on the top step were thwarted. I would not think of doing that trick on three of the others ladders.Little Giant does not make poorly produced products as far as I know. My other sectional Little Giant is comparable to the quality of this one. Yesterday, I decided to do some maintenance on my garage door and pulled out the Little Giant. I won't bore you with the actual procedures I used, but the ability to move the ladder where I needed it made it delightful. Because of its strength, I was able to lubricate the wall piece with only one move. The maintenance on the perpendicular rod did not require more than the original placement at the motor head.Nap time won out over doing anything productive. I folded the top handle, closed the front & back steps moved it on its rollers to an out of the way location for the next use in a few days outside.

staircase like in the 4-step version Fabulous for 9 foot ceiling smoke detector battery changing
The release bar for handrail is a pin that does not release on both sides consistantly. The metal bar along the handle has to be gripped tightly to compress but the pin in the bar hole doesn't release for both sides. There was no instructions included. Searched product on Manufacturers website. Videos were for 3 step. SEARCHING, SEARCHED, and Thought. This unit will slide easy into position when held by top step, then rail will go out off position. Resulting in locked so no complete up or down. Final logic filled cussing position freed the lock. Always hold by the long bar of rear legs, when ladder in storage flat folded position. Hold by long bar rear legs, the bar railing with storage tray will stay with long bar. Place at area you are opening the staircase steps, then holding front and back of top step, make a lift of one side. The step will assume the flat step position and draw the steps below into a working position. Check that completely open to full fixed stepladder. If you have to move, lift by bar of rear legs and tip up on wheels. At final position, you can lift bar and click in locked position. If close to wall, you can use a hand there to steady. Videos had stated 3 position safety -- 2 feet + hand. Would buy this again and also the 3 step and 2 step. Solid support for feet when working on out of reach items.

It's been awesome so far but......
4 and a half stars. Why?First, it is heavy duty, solid, and definitely useful. This 4 stepper replaces a flimsy 3 stepper that finally broke from underneath me (yes I fell hard). So I decided to the spend the extra $ on this one and so far, totally worth it. It is solid. Rated as 1A for OSHA compliance. Although there is usually a factor of safety applied when equipment is tested to be rated as "extra heavy duty" or 1A rating. My guess is a safety factor of 1.5 (or 450 lbs tested)? Take that tidbit how you will.Cons - 1) It might be too heavy to be easily "household" usable. It sure doesn't feel like 27 lbs.2) Wheels are near useless. You can only use them when the step stool is folded out. So in that case, it is can roll around provided there is maneuvering room especially with a folded out 4-step model. Just something to consider. In all, it has been a useful safe assuring product. If you need to reach higher than 10 ft, consider a step ladder. If you need to use a step stool with lighter carrying weight, then I suggest the 3 step model. But also it's better to have a 4 stepper and not need it then to need it and not have it?😉👍🏾
