Used this on a 15gal tamukeyama Japanese maple tree, planted in the middle of summer in the south. Tree looks good!

I’ve found that this is the perfect product for newly planted shrubs and trees that are just out of reach of the sprinkler and/or hose. It’s great at delivering water in a slow, but steady rate to keep them growing.

Great idea, concept needs work. I’ve had several bags lose crystals (or whatever is storing the water). For the amount I paid, I expected it to last longer than a season.

While the product sort of worked for me...it kept delivering my plant water. The fact that the material is black means you can't leave it in the sun or it bakes your plants. I tried it on 2 tomatoes sitting next to each other on my deck. The one with the tree diaper started wilting after the first day. After a week, I switched plants. The first one came back to life while the second one started wilting. I finally just removed it. I gave it 2 stars because it kept the soil of the plants moist but they shouldn't advertise as indoor/outdoor. It is really just indoor or at least plants that aren't mostly in the sun.

Tried using this for my hibiscus tree as it needs watering 2 times a day on very hot days. Unfortunately, the tree diaper doesn't seem to be leaching enough water to get to the roots. The top soil is wet but I still have to water the plant each day which defeats the purpose of using the tree diaper. Followed the directions, put black part up and the bag is full of water, so not sure what else I can do to correct the issue. Was really hoping this would work, very disappointing 😞 Need to return it but now have to figure out how drain the bag in less than 30 days...

We have a crepe myrtle that is out of the way and not near a hose, so it sometimes doesn’t get watered for weeks. Last year it never even bloomed.This product has saved the tree. It slowly watered the tree for over a week! Although I expect it will need to be refilled more often as the weather changes.Definitely would purchase again.

These things are the best thing since I planted new plants in my yard. The plants that have these grow bigger better and taller with more fruit / vegetable output and the plants look healthier overall. the downside is that the biggest one broke dropping a bunch of white / clearish globs in my garden that were very hard to pick up. I bought the smaller ones which I would suggest going with those they're just as good and they are less prone to breaking.

Received the watering mats, charged one up overnight and went to place it around a shrub... and as I was sliding it in place, one of the seams split open and spilled the water-soaked beads all over. Not a well-made device, or at least quality control is lacking. Hopefully the second one will hold together.(editted)Customer support contacted me and sent a replacement mat right away... the new one worked fine and the second in the initial pair of mats was also fine.So, thanks to good customer service, I've changed the overall rating.
