A worthwhile must have for your dog.
I purchased this for my 6 month old lurcher puppy. I have clipped his nails once but he is very hyper and I thought the idea of filing was a safer option. At the time of purchase I have had another family dog staying with us while his humans were away on holiday. His nails were in need of a pedicure too. He is a lovely, laid back lad and is a great role model for the pup. We had a few sessions of sitting together on the floor letting them sniff at the grinders, then switching them on so they could listen. They certainly are very quiet! The older dog just paid down and accepted having his nails done while pup watched. So he was very good then when I did his. We are on day five now and both dogs nails are perfect! I haven't rushed the process at all. Every day a short burst on each dog's nails followed by much praise and the odd dog biscuit. I think the grinders are brilliant! They do a very good job indeed. Nice and easy to use, quiet, quick to charge and have lasted well on our five days worth of filing. I would recommend these highly. Both dogs very relaxed and have very smart nails.

Effective and easy way of trimming dog's nails.
This product appears fairly robust, it charges in a reasonable time and then you have plenty of time time to trim your dog's nails. It produces little noise when you turn it on but this increases when you apply it to the dog's nail. The noise is accompanied by a degree of vibration, despite this my dog tolerated the trimming very well. Trimming the dog's nails like this is not quick but it is precise and I would not like to use clippers. The grinder does allow you to smooth out rough and sharp areas of the nail. I think the price is very reasonable and it will certainly save me money in the longer term (it probably has already and I've only used it once).

Definitely a well made product. Just doesn’t work on my dogs.
It’s a very well made tool, light weight, well balanced, feels great to hold, you can really tell it’s a robust little device that could easily withstand punishment and use wise? It effortlessly grinds away any nail. Much easier compared to clippers.Noise wise, it’s quieter than I expected. However for my dogs? Most definitely doesn’t keep them calm whenever they hear it.This unfortunately doesn’t work for 3 out of 4 of my rescue dogs. This could be a method I’m doing incorrectly? I’ve followed the product description down perfectly, let them get used to the smell, switch it on so they get accustomed to the sound and yet despite remaining calm myself and offer lots of praise and yet, whenever I attempt to move it near their paws they completely freak out. Only one dog it seems to partly work on and that’s only on the back paws. Front paws? Not a chance. It’s a shame, I was really hoping to cut down on grooming bills since we mainly walk ours on fields and hardly ever pavements so the paws aren’t filed down. (One of our dogs gets utterly freaked out at the sight of any moving car)For me, I’ll be taking ours to the groomers. But for you? For the price you might as well try it and probably have more luck than I did.

Easy to use
Much easier than using nail cutters, being careful, your dog will let you know when the nail is short enough, without having the risk of bleeding. Take your time though, do not use on one nail for long periods because friction will cause discomfort and your dog will remember that.

Low noise level
Easy to use, low noise level, easy to hold and sturdy. However they do not take a lot of nail off at a time. Small and often, but that's better for my puppy.

Works well
We have a golden Labrador puppy with sharp little nails. Following the other reviews about this device, I switched it on at first and just let her listen to the noise. She barked at it and ran away. I did this a few times, and she eventually stopped barking/running away so I decided to use it to file her nails. She would not let me touch her paws at first, and just kept trying to chew the device which made it very difficult to use. So my son held her and distracted her with food, and I managed to file the nails on all 4 paws. As long as she didn't see me using it, she was fine. She didn't bark or whine, and it clearly didn't hurt her. Her sharp little nails are now nicely filed down. I'd highly recommend this device - it will save you money from not having to visit the dog salon for nail trimming. I'd also recommend having treats available to distract your dog each time you use it, and another person to help you.Update (Oct 19): We have used the nail grinder about 3 times on our dog's nails and she is fine with the whole process now. I have uploaded a photo of her having her nails filed yesterday - as you can see she's quite happy. I'm very pleased I bought this little gadget

Dog claw grinders
These are amazing! I wanted some claw grinders for a while but didn't know if my dog would like them so didn't want to spent lots of money. They are soooooo quiet, feel sturdy and do a good job of filing my dogs claws. I'm glad I purchased these!
