Turning Bowls and Platters (ELEMENTS OF WOODTURNING) Paperback – November 29, 2013

This is an ok book but is in no way a guide to turning platters and bowls. If you need to learn bowl turning, get Richard Raffan's book. The gallery of pictures in the back will be confusing to new turners as concepts shown are not explained.Book contains articles that are not about the turning aspect. Examples include articles on the hidden cost of green wood and how to build a kiln from a small freezer. Nice articles in and of themselves, but are out of place in this book.Good information but a better description of what readers can expect would be nice.

I have not even read this book, but watch it. Amazon will take 10% more then the actual sale value of the book. I feel this is very underhanded and they call it "Tax" . My other books were not taxed??? If there is a tax, then it should be included in the sales price. Be Careful with AMAZON !!!!!

Good basics needed to start turning

Was purchased as a gift for a woodworker

An excellent basic presentation for all turners from beginners to the pros that always can use a "refresher" as I often do!

I found this book very helpfull. The tips, suggestions and thequinites described by the author were quite welcome.George

This book is a fraud. It is just reprints from the AAW magazine.

Although not exactly the info I was looking for, there is still a lot of good instruction and tips.
