Amazon Basics Inline Water Filter, 4 Pack

I live in a town with hard water and washing my car is a hassle along with TX heat. 100+ degree weather and hard water are not friends with a black car. Trying to find a method to reduce hard water and minerals I saw several car wash filtration systems costing $130 plus. Of course that was way out of my price range. I stumbled across these inline filters. While they are not a water softener they do help to remove a lot of the minerals in the water and gave me a MUCH easier time washing my car in the direct sun. Yes you still have to ensure you wash/dry one panel at a time but any spots that appear I was able to quickly take care of (I did this as an extra step to prevent water spots). I attached it to my garden hose by taking a short hose I had, hooking it up to the inline filter and then attaching a longer hose to the other end of the filter. This prevented me from knocking the filter around on my driveway possibly damaging it as well as putting strain on my faucet. I did not drink any water from the filter so I cannot attest to it's ability to change it's flavor. I'm very happy with my purchase. I got the 4 pack and will be attaching 2 to the cold and hot lines on my washing machine to see if this has any affect on washing my clothes. To prevent strain on the connections of your washer purchase a pair of new hoses for your machine. Disconnect the old ones only from the back of your washer, connect it to the filter and connect the new ones to the filter, then the back of your washer. Bam! A filtration system for your washing machine. If you're looking for a cheap alternative to HELP with (not eliminate) water spots while washing your car, try this out before purchasing one of those expensive filtration units.

Used it to fill our hot tub from the garden hose. Had no issues attaching to hose and filling. No sediment in the bottom of the tub after filling and quick and easy to balance.

I bought this for filling my Hot Tub. I must admit, I was sceptical.My well water has a very high iron and magnesium content.Every time I added Chlorine to the hot tub previously the water turned a brown colour.I tried this filter without much hope. Well, I was proved completely wrong. The water was crystal clear from the hose. I added chlorine and waited for the inevitable brown colour but it didn't happen, the water stayed crystal clear.I would highly recommend this product if you have a well for your water supply.Just remember to let the water flow for a few seconds to flush the filter before filling the hot tub.Fantastic product, will be ordering again.

The description is accurate. They made a difference in the color of the water.

The filter was easy to install. It would much better if they add a flex tube to the package. Water flow didn’t change but I haven’t noticed any changes in water taste.

I did not receive the flex hose in the package. Does the 2 pack come with the flex hose? The description should tell you whether it comes with the flex hose or not. It is assumed that it should come with it.

I bought the 2 pack version which does not include the short hose as I didn't need it. The filter[s] arrive quickly and packaged well. I filled the trailer tank at home with the filter attached to the hose and it worked well. Filling up at parks is a hit or miss whether the water is good quality or not, and we do not drink from the trailer taps at all. I just wanted a filter to keep the water cleaner for dishes and brushing teeth. For the few camping trip we do in the summer I believe the filter will last a couple of years.

looks sturdy , very handy on multi applications (fish pond, RV) and hopefully it filters as well,I would give it 5 star only there is not a word of hard info about the filtering , pressure, storing etc.

even after installing two inline, they did nothing to help with hard water spots after a car wash. zero benefit in using these. even the water tasted awful afterwards. what a waste of money.

I was using this on my pressure washer in hopes of lessening water spots. The plastic is very soft, any side to side pressure will strip the plastic threads and then leaks there after.As for water spots... not sure what was in this but it left a horrible chemical like coating that was very hard to get cleaned off.Will not use again.For use as drinking water filter????Didn’t try
