RCBSUniversal HPT Primer Tray Assy

These are great for reloading, the round ones that come with the hand primer tools are worthless. Like the old saying, you can't fit a square peg in a round hole.

If you love the Lee Auto bench prime but hate their crappy little primer tray this is a great replacement. You will need to file down the top edges of the feed throat but it is very easy to modify. Lee use to make nice trays like this but their new trays are junk.

This replaced the round when that was the original. No comparison. Well satisfied.

It works, but the tray lid design is not great. Its held together by a small plastic rod in the center. Im sure that wont last long so have a few rubber bands handy for when it breaks or gets loose and doesn't hold the lid securely. The plastic feels very sturdy though, so I dont think it will be easy to break the unit. When you open it up and put your primers in it, shake it to orient them in the right direction, then try to snap this lid back on, it makes the whole tray jump and a few primers can turn over before the lid is secure. I may just cut the plastic rod off and just use rubber bands to hold it together unless I come up with a better way. But it does work, just have to be careful

I purchased this to update my older hand priming tool with the smaller round priming tray. It works perfectly! This tray has the slide primer shutoff while the round tray has a shutoff requiring the cover to be turned. They both work equally well in that regard, but this new larger square tray is easier to load and far more convenient IMO.

Ordered as a backup for my older (round) RCBS tray.Much better design & quality.Fits perfectly in my older RCBS priming tool.It was a bit tricky to squeeze the center pin & remove. Once removed a few times,, no problem. Expect you would not want to mar or crush that pin. Then the lid would not fit properly.

Fits the Frankford Arsenal hand primer tool. The retainer for the lid pops into place and causes the primers to flip and the loading gate is on the cover so primers can spill out before you get the lid on. However it functions well and works on the Frankford tool.

Don't know why anyone made a round one to start with. Have reloaded for years and have never had primers come in a round tray. I can finally put all the primers in this tray instead of one half a tray. No more spilling primers and policing them up. Good product.
