A drop in replacement
My stove burned a hole in the fire pot wall. This stove is my main source of heating, so I wanted to repair it as quickly as possible. The new fire pot was delivered promptly. Installation instructions were clear and concise. I didn't need the replacement starter, but that can be a spare. The actual installation was quick and easy. The replacement hardware all fit properly. I did have an issue with the thermocouple cover clamp not tightening down enough, but that was easily fixed. I would suggest that the thermocouple cover be replaced when the fire pot is being installed. The cover is much less expensive than a replacement thermocouple. The price was good, the part works correctly and delivery was prompt. What more could I ask for? Oh, yes, add a thermocouple cover to the kit.

Good design flawed by inferior craftsmanship, casting is literally disintegrating
This piece , like many quadrafire items, has very poor metallurgy due to casting in China. The metal is literally disintegrating, and I never run my stove on high and only burn soft wood pellets. If this was built in the USA, it would be as good as any stove on the market. They are well engineered and the quality of stove when new was good, not great , but good. The replacement parts they sell are a couple steps down from the original. My original fire pot started changing shape after 6-7 years. This one won't make it thru the season. Rub it with your fingers and it crumbles. I still have the old one outside and will probably reinstall it. I have an earth stove from 1978 with all metal piece still holding their shape and integrity. If I was running the country, american companies would be forced to use american made products in order to sell here in the USA. Instead , we just keep filling our landfills with poorly made chinese junk. Two is probably high for the finished product, but the design in good.

Works better than old design
My 2009 stove had the old design burn pot and the steel sleeve that holds ignitor broke from the cast burn pot after burning 7 tons of pellets per year for 14.5 years. New pot starts faster and seems to burn more evenly with the flames more centered than old design because of different hole pattern.

What can I say, as I am new to ...
What can I say, as I am new to pellet stoves. I mistakenly thought that the one in the 'used stove' that I bought, was the old type, because of it's old looking appearance, and by not using a mirror with a flashlight to look more closely at the bottom of the pot. Well, now I guess I have an expensive spare, as I installed it, only to find out the above. Unit is well made though, and installed with no problem.

Developed a crack after one month of use. Igniter died in two months.
I purchased a new Fire Pot upgrade for my Quadrafire Mount Vernon Pellet Stove. Also a new ignitor. Both were purchased from Clearview Fireplace & Patio, Oswego NY. The firepot cracked after one month of use and the ignitor died after two months. I contacted Clearview several times and they have not done anything to try and resolve the issue. Live and Learn. Buy your supplies from someone you can trust. FYI, The crack has now expanded to about 1/8 inch side at its widest point. It is still useable, but that is beside the point..it is defective casting that I have not been able to get replaced.
