After years of taking off and putting on a solar cover for a 15 x 30 pool, I bought this reel. So much easier! You can mount this on the pool directly, but I set up 2 pressure treated 4x4 posts just behind my pool. Works great.

I did a lot of research before purchasing a cover roller because there are quite a lot of options, they are all at least $200.00, and a lot of them have a frightening amount of negative reviews. I came across this cover roller and the reviews for my size pool were good, the only poor reviews I see are for pools 22-24' in diameter. Ours is a 15x30' oval and we didn't even use all of the pieces to extend the roller arms across the pool, 5 came in the box and only three were needed to span our pool, I like having the extra pieces should they be needed. No sag in the roller (yet) and the lift away design makes it perfect for one person to remove the cover.The only negative I have to say is the straps that come with it require you to puncture holes in the cover in order to attach, which I could see becoming a large rip down the line. I love this reel and that it makes it easier for removing and replacing the solar cover by myself. However after only two years the plastic has cracked on both reel holder pieces. I will have to order replacements which are $80.

3 stars due to the completely useless instructions included with the reel. They do not provide any specific details or steps...just a jist of what you are supposed to accomplish while you spend time figuring out exactly how to accomplish said visuals...especially proper strap placement to get your cover to unreel correctly behind the reel. Through a few trial and errors...we figured it out but too much time wasted staring at instructions with a wtf look...that being said....once it is done CORRECTLY...it does make removing the cover and recovering much easier. A more in depth set of instructions would have made the rating higher. It does hold the cover well and just bows down a bit in the middle. Seems like it will last awhile. We purchased this for an above ground 24' round so it was fun figuring out how to mount it on the pool and exactly where the straps needed to be to work right. Worth the money but plan on figuring out the installation yourself.

We have a 15x30 oval pool, and decided to mount these to pressure treated 4x4 posts just above and just past one end to get it out of the way, and because we weren't keen on drilling through the pool edge. Works great so far. You can really be creative with the design since it can be mounted independent of the pool. The plastic pieces just aren't as thick and sturdy as I would like, and I plan to keep an eye on them for stress cracks. Worth the money so far for the super easy and quick on and off of the cover. Would buy again.

Well my wife bought this for our brand new 24ft pool and I hate to write a bad review on any product but I really have to say SAVE YOUR MONEY and buy something else.after about 1h trying to figure out the really BAD INSTRUCTIONS we ended up figuring it out just by using common sense, we find out that we should have bought at least one for 27ft pools because this one barely fits it, even being assembled on the pool edges.It bends a lot in the middle even with a extra pvc pipe added in the middle of it.For the company I would say, either advertise this for a smaller pool like a 22 or something or add at least an extra extension part to this product so it might fit better with more strength, wen your rolling It up it just gives you the feeling that it will break at any moment.

You will need to drill holes to put this together. Not just into your pool, but into the device itself. You would think it would come with pre-drilled holes, but alas, it does not. Which, when you don’t own a power drill, is a bit of a problem. It seems like it will be sturdy - once I buy a power drill to put it together.

The product is solid. The company should advertise on its item that it ships in two separate boxes and two separate shipments.
