A bit stiff
Replaced my original brace with this one due to age. I kart now and can't wear a HANS. Have already tested this brace when a rookie put me in the wall. Someone had a video of the incident where there was air underneath the kart. No neck pain the next day. I'd say it did its job.

saves your beck
Started tracking my corvette last year. One rainy track day, at road America while roaring through the kink, I hydroplaned and hit the right then the lady wall. Between the airbag , the Simpson neck collar, a helmet, 3 point seatbelt and crumple zones, I walked away unhurt. The car is toast. If you are not ready for a full HANS device, use of the neck protector has been shown to be associated with less neck injuries, and it saved me some whiplash.
