Accu Chek Accu-chek Blood Glucose Monitoring System, Smartview 1 Kit

I am very pleased with this kit! I had to replace my One Touch Ultra Mini as it was no longer accurate, so while shopping around for a new one, I found this kit on Amazon. I am so glad I did. The Nano meter is small and yet easy to handle and control (as I have nerve damage in my right arm which makes me shake at times), so a meter I can control is vital to me. The Nano is easy to use and travel with too and it's just plain cute. The kit comes with 12 free lancets and the lancet device was a real surprise to me....I had no intention of using it as I had one similar to this kind years ago and it was junk; however, I figured I would try it just once. I was shocked to see i felt no pain (on #2 setting) and the blood appeared quickly. My old lancet has been painful lately and I had trouble getting enough blood to test, so I was very relieved to see this lancet work so well and without pain too. There were no test strips in my kit, so I ordered them here at Amazon; they were cheaper than my old meter, and the lancets too are reasonable I think. Overall, I love this meter and the lancet device as well and would highly recommend this kit. Shipping was fast and very reasonable price as well.

Unfortunately not so long a go my doctor told me that i was having my sugar levels in the blood too high and if i did not performed some excerscie and a good diet i could get diagnose Diabetes Type 1. He suggested to check my levels every week to see that my levels dropped but i am afraid of needles so the blood tests are difficult for me to take every week. I found this kit and i though it could help me. This items works great. I am monitoring my levels every week with no issues. It comes with the tool to perform the pinch to extract the blood drop. It almost does not hurt. Almost undetectable and come with some straws and some needles too. It is a Good option if you need to monitor your glucose levels. I all ready order one more for my mother in law that has a similar issue as me. Thnxs for the opportunity to get this item in this great price :D

The Nano is a good, but not exceptional meter. It does everything an average meter does, but nothing stands out. If you have to pay for test strips (I do not) it can be expensive. On the plus side, the FastClix lancet is the best I've tried. The cartridge refills makes changing needles fast and easy, and the comfort dial gives repeatable performance. Most of the time, there is no pain at all. The refills cost more than the universal ones, but it is so worth it. I get about 5 uses out of each needle.

I’ve used the meter for just under 6 months with no problems. It’s very quick and easy to use. In contrast, I use a sister meter to assess my blood clotting time. It takes around five times as log. SO RATING IS 5 STARS.BUT.....Two days ago the meter started misbehaving. It gave an indication of low battery. I replaced the batteries and had to play with the and buttons to have it operate properly. Yesterday, the same symptoms.. However this time I did not replace the batteries, because the ones I replaced the previous day were fresh, unexpired, brand-name. I played with it more and it finally started working. Today, almost dead broke. Only thing it would try to do is upload files. SO RATING IS DOWN TO 2 STARS.BUT....Checking the instruction book, the unit has a 3-year limited warranty. The back plate on the meter contains their customer service number, and the meter serial number. I called the number, was connected within a total of 30 seconds, and connected with a service rep who communicated well with no accent! He had me read the serial number, we tried about three diagnostics and he pronounced the unit defective. He explained he would send a return address label, pre-paid to return the old meter. In addition they will send a new meter for free, to arrive in 3-8 business days. Wow! Everything satisfied in under 5 minutes. SO RATING IS BACK TO FIVE STARS!Even though I had a defect in the meter within 6 months, the return process wis smooth and efficient. Therefore a lower rating due to the meter’s quality is warranted, but is more than offset by the good warranty and no hassle return process. I realize that no product is perfect across every unit. Delivered with test strips. Either both packages of test strips are too wide or the meter port is too small. If the quality control is too low to test basic function, I wouldn't trust the reading, even if it did work. I trimmed a test strip to make sure it worked then threw it away.

This is my second Accu-Chek Nano Meter. The first one still works but the lancing device broke. I bought the meter and lancing device together because it was a much better deal than to buy just the lancing device alone. I have been very pleased with the Nano for about five years now. I do have insurance so the cost for test strips and FastClix lancets is not terribly high. If you don’t have decent insurance or if you have no insurance at all, I recommend going to Walmart and buying the ReliOn Prime meter. The test strips cost aa less and it gets the job done adequately.

it is not user friendly. I haven't even even figured out how to poke my finger with the Accu Chek; the lancets are the strangest looking I have ever seen. I do not like this set; I want to stick with Freestyle Freedom Lite products.
