If you are raising a Christian family, this book is NOT for you.
The stuff in this book is awful. ALL of the stories are all about demons doing things like eating kids. The yoga teaches them to meditate... why??? stretching is one thing, but to meditate? I saw this all and just threw the book away. NOT SUITABLE FOR A CHRISTIAN FAMILY.

Printed in black and white
Printed in black and white. Maybe I missed this detail somewhere in the description. Misleading, even the back cover shows pictures in color. Sending it back.

Most comprehensive Summer workbook I've found
Yes, the pages are in black and white (minus a star for that), but I love how comprehensive the curriculum is. It's laid out by Weeks and Days so there's no guessing or flipping through different subjects. I like that there are daily fitness moves as well. There are full explanations of the concept before each exercise. Font is smaller than other workbooks but there's a lot of content compared to the Brain Quest workbooks.

Unfortunately - it’s being returned
I Purchased two of these one for another grade level and this one for grade 2 to 3. The description made it sound perfect for what we wanted - A simple format with a page a day for the 12 weeks during break. The rating however is almost like a very poor translation of English. I should’ve known something was up as this book is rated number one in Nigerian travel guides A simple format with a page a day for the 12 weeks during break. The writing/content is almost like a very poor translation of English. The first story was such a hard read. I should’ve known something was up as this book is a best seller in Nigeria travel guides - ???? Unfortunately we are returning it.

Not the best of books for children learning
The book appears to be originally written in a foreign language then translated to English which is not good for a 8 or 9 year old when reading the different stories. Sentence structure is off along with nouns and pronouns.

These are not based on research.
Terrible workbook.I am a certified elementary teacher.I bought this for summer work for my daughter going into 3rd grade. The stories are so word and confusing I had trouble reading them. The vocabulary used in the stories is middle school leveled. The questions are fine but the story is way yo hard for this level.Week 2 of the math the kids are expected to KNOW division inside and out but week 3 they go back to working on locating where the ones, tens and hundred places are! I really feel like these were slapped together without anyone checking for actually grade level goals in mind.Yes. I am still making my kids do these. But they need me next to them the whole time or just crossing out questions ahead of time.

Not as good as it looks
Seriously who wrote this? The reading activities are not even for a 30 year old. For example, there are a handful of stories that refers to dog owners as mistresses? What 2nd header is going to understand what a mistress is?

Great for summer studying!
Kids Summer Academy does a great job providing some structured learning for the kids over the summer. The book is divided into 12 weeks, so the kiddo can easily finish it within the summer holidays. What we really like about this series is that there are "mix" of activities (math, ELA, science, social studies, fitness) that really go beyond their regular grade level, so they can prepare for the next grade. What we have never seen is that they offer free video explanations to each question. I went to their website and watch a couple of them. I was shocked how well they are. This is really nice for kids to have as a backup if they have problems solving some questions.
