I recently purchased the Self-Locking Weight Lifting Belt and I'm incredibly impressed. This belt has significantly improved my lifting experience. First and foremost, the support it provides is outstanding. I've noticed a huge difference in my core stability, especially when squatting. This belt enables me to squat deeper and with more confidence, without worrying too much about my lower back. This is a game-changer for anyone serious about heavy lifting. The self-locking mechanism is a brilliant feature. It's incredibly secure and easy to adjust, ensuring a snug and comfortable fit every time. Great belt, one that actually fits smaller sizes. Far more comfortable than previous belts I’ve tried, the Velcro does make it fasten pretty well so it won’t be suddenly opening up when lifting heavy. Offers good support, definitely helped with posture during deadlifts.

The belt is nice and lightweight so perfect for travel.. It’s sometimes a little tricky to get tight but this got better after a few times so I would say not a significant issue. For the price I’m happy. There are belts with big heavy clips and leather that I tried that hurt your ribs while squatting and add weight. This one is good for weighted cardio and compound movements like deadlifts and squats. I gave it a 4 star because if it was going to be perfect I would have the strap slightly more heavy duty and perhaps have the inner portion connectable with Velcro to keep it aligned better when tightening.

Once you get the knack of the locking mechanism (clear instructions on the card you get with the belt) the belt is very secure and I am able to fully brace against it more so than I can with a normal leather buckle belt. I do slide my belt round once tightened so the metal part is at the back so it doesn't get in the way. I've only used the belt for squats so far and it faired very well, I am yet to test it out on my oly lifts so will update in the coming weeks...... With regards to sizing, the chart says to go smaller if you are borderline. I am 27inch (around belly button) so based on that I could have gone XS or S. Per their chart I went XS initially however when I tried the belt on the 2 ends didn't meet each other by two inches and the only thing against me in the middle was the velcro strap. I contacted Element26 who said this was normal and the ends didn't need to meet, however I didn't feel fully secure so I returned the belt to Amazon and ordered the S. This is a much better fit. The 2 ends overlap each other by about 2 inches now and I feel fully locked in. Amazon made the return process super easy too. I did initially contact Element 26 to exchange but they tried to convince me to keep the XS and that I must have measured myself incorrectly...slightly condescending!

I can see that this belt is amazing quality built to last. However, I think this would only be comfortable for myself if the belt fit absolutely perfectly with the inside bits just touching without any overlap of the inside bits at all (the video mentioned a small overlap meant it fit well). This is because the slight overlap dug into my stomach when trying it on and performing some deadlift/squat movements without any bar or weight. It was actually quite painful for me and believe I need a belt that’s thinner around the front rather than the same width all the way around. This belt being the same width all the way around meant it’s not for me. That’s just me though and every body is different. If this fits you well and doesn’t cause any discomfort, then it’s going to be an amazing belt for you and I can see why others have given 5 stars.

Bought to be a lighter weight belt option for throwing into my gym bag when travelling about, but I now use it as my only belt most of the time. used it for CrossFit and associated weightlifting. I wasn’t sure how comfortable it would be initially without any padding but after a few months of use, I can say that was no issue at all. Very comfortable, offers good support to the core during lifts and releases quickly whether using the threaded locking mechanism or just doubling back on the velcro; ideal for transitioning from one movement to the next. Finally, I got the squat programme it comes with which was a great touch, and E26 provide excellent post purchase service to help you get the most out of your belt. I don’t really have any negative points; it does everything I want. I would say I’m not the strongest lifter so I’m not sure how supportive it is on crazy weights, but probably plenty! Generally very happy with it. Highly recommend for CrossFit and general lifting.

I have had one for two years. Velcro is now getting a little tired but it still holds soso. Locking bar works as new. Fits pretty true to the chart. If in doubt size down. I got a medium and it fits fine. Zero complaints. But maybe a small would have been more optimal. Would by again.
