24V 40VA Doorbell Transformer, Power Supply Adapter Thermostat Transformer Compatible with All Versions of Ring Doorbell and Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell Smart Thermostat

I bought this for a new Ring Doorbell Pro since the main thing that seems to kill the doorbells is insufficient power. When I first hooked it up with nothing on the output, I was getting 27.7V at the unit, and even 27.7V at the doorbell location. I called and talked to Ring to make sure that wasn’t too much voltage (they recommend 16-24V) and they said that the voltage should drop once the Ring Pro Kit (battery) is installed. He said to install the Pro kit first, touch the doorbell wires together and if my mechanical chimes work, then I’m totally fine. I did that and everything was great, so I went ahead and installed the Ring Doorbell Pro. On the doorbell I’m getting a voltage reading of 4056 mV which is GOOD (green) and falls in their window of perfect voltage. The unit is only a little bigger than my original 16V 10VA unit, so the only real downside is the need to purchase a beefier unit like this, but the price isn’t the worst.

This will give your Ring doorbell power if your current transformer is underpowered. It does not have a ground wire so if your box behind the transformer is plastic you will need to ground it another way. Worked good for me.
