Size Name:5 litre Product Description The pond is a closed system, which therefore requires a filtering system to eliminate toxic substances such as ammonia and nitrates, thereby guaranteeing the purity of the water and the well-being of its inhabitants. In order to do this, a family of bacteria (Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter) are used. These bacteria, during the nitrogen cycle, transform the ammonia first in nitrites and then in nitrates, which are far less toxic. Equo has developed STILLA POND as an ultra-porous, bio-mineral support which the bacteria can inhabit and carry out their purification action while receiving the correct amount of water and oxygen. Directions INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Insert the contents in a wide net and rinse under running water to eliminate any dust or residue. Place them in the biological container of the filter. Protect STILLA POND from dirt by placing it after the mechanical filter. The content of a bag of STILLA POND is sufficient to filter a normally populated aquarium of approximately 600 litres. With time, the impurities and the calcium present in the water tend to block the pores of the filter.
