Just got it, hooked up four F970's and works as described. My first V-mount use so I'm not sure what to look for. But at $17, this is a great value for me (amateur). Running this on an LED light panel with a v-mount control box. Makes the box HEAVY - but to be expected. No need to buy expensive V-mount batteries when you have a bag of NP-F's !Each NP-F slot is locked in with a release button. Should keep the batteries from falling off. And there's a locking release tab for the V-mount slot as well. So, this seems solid and practical for the price. Don't have a use for the D-tap yet butay prove useful in the future. Good to have it than not.

Not a standard v-mount. Did not fit my Godox VL150 without modifying it. Even then didn't work.
It wouldn't lock on to my Godox VL150 because it was hitting the lip on my light, so I had to notch out the plastic. When I opened it up, the socket wires disconnected because they were soldered so poorly. An actual V-mount battery fits my light because the lip is shorter, and powers it for quite a while.Update: This will not power my VL150. It only works for 5 seconds and then it powers off no matter how low the light output is set to. I've tried many different actual Sony battery sets that are fully charged. It doesn't drain the batteries, it just stops working after a few seconds. On the other hand I've tried the dtap to power my Sony A7s camera and this does work for this limited purpose.I can verify that it does use either the top 2 batteries or the bottom 2 batteries. I didn't test to see if it auto switches below a certain voltage but If I pull a battery out it does switch sets, so that's nice that you can hot swap the batteries.Bottom line, this will work if you want to power a camera or perhaps a low power light, but as I said above I can't get it to work on my Godox VL150 even dialed down to 1% output. FYI the Godox VL150 is a 150watt light and the specs indicate it draws 2A (DC16.8V 10A).
