Sistema Microwave Cookware Rectangular Bowl, 41.6 Ounce/ 5.2 Cup, Red

I bought this (rectangular bowl) exclusively for instant ramen, and I mean no frills bricks and water then pop it in the microwave instant ramen. And for this purpose, it is the most perfect microwave instant ramen container I have ever owned. You might think the 'noodle' bowl would be more suited for ramen - you'd be wrong. I got that one, too, and it is fantastic for soup but a ramen brick will not fit unless you break it into chunks and by then you've missed the point of instant ramen, which is the ratio of calories to effort expended. The rectangular bowl will, just barely 90% of the time, fit two standard ramen bricks inside. Fill it with water until the water just barely crests the top of the bricks, secure the lid, MAKE SURE THE VENT IS OPEN, put in your microwave and (for me) microwave for 6 minutes. Let it sit for as long as you prefer your ramen to soak and then it's ready for the flavor packets, but the cooking part is done. And that's it. Two bricks with a little effort maybe, water, lid, microwave and you're done. I would prefer if it were just a few cm longer so I didn't have to force the bricks in sometimes but aside from that it has worked for me every time. I've reordered it because I foolishly left my old one behind after a move, it's held up and is very easy to clean. If you just want no frills instant ramen two bricks at a time, the rectangular bowl is all you'll ever need.

I have several of these Sistema microwave bowls in several sizes. They work great, as they slowly vent the steam, making for a nice result. They go through the dishwasher on top shelf like champs. I have them in the RV and at home...I now drop all sorts of things and these bowls could care less, unlike the Corell dishware. Keeps the peace in the kitchen, as no glass clean-up necessary.

Perfect in size and function. I needed a sturdy microwavable lunch container. The steamer function makes sure that my food doesnt come out dry and the little handles on the side are good for taking hot container from microwave to table. I take lunch to work everyday so I needed to buy quality, I got tired of some containers warping in the microwave or uneven heating. I will buy 2 more just so that I dont have to do the dishes every day.

I use this for steaming vegetables to replace the old microwave steamer I had that contained BPA (I'm guessing). The only thing I wish it had like my old one, is a slotted tray to drain the water. It did steam the veggies fine however.

A very good, much-used product. I do a lot of vegetable cooking, frozen and fresh. This is easy to use, and holds up well. The only thing I'd ask the company to change, possibly, would be the little close/open piece for steam. It's great in use, but it needs to be removed (easy enough) when it comes out of the dishwasher, because I don't like to put things away with water drops inside. Might not bother someone else. I plan to buy other sizes too.

Excellent contain for the microwave holds up use after use and has a release lever which works perfectly. A solid built container that will last longer than regular containers (my thoughts). I was the person that would use regular Tupperware in the microwave which caused me to damage several containers. Nice product I plan to buy a few more in different sizes.

Well, waited for my review of this. Ok the leak proof is excellent, but the reheating process is taking a toll already and have only had it a few months. So, yes the inside looks a bit eaten up now. We do not use knives and forks on these. But we bought them to store and microwave leftovers. Going to try something else. But if leak proof is what you need only then this is perfect. But I would say reheat in something else if you want it to last.

This product is well made and exactly the size I need for use for me as a single man. The steam escape system is excellent and novel and I like it being built in to the cover.

I have been using products of this brand for a long time. I am satisfied.
