which I enjoy. Very well organized and informative
The writing style is very poetic, which I enjoy. Very well organized and informative. It talks about the four knowings of nursing which are empirical knowing, aesthetic knowing, ethical knowing, and personal knowing. Empirical knowing is about knowing nursing research and being informed of the most recent and up-to-date info to provide a safe practice. Aesthetic knowing goes into depth of how nursing is an art form. Personal knowing talks about how in order to help others you have to be able to help yourself.

Kindle version does not allow for page numbers, only kindle position numbers, this makes referencing for papers difficult.

Waste of student's time and money
The book was obviously thought out and assembled with diligence and meticulous care, and I'm sure the authors believe what they wrote, but the concepts in this book are ridiculous. So much of the nursing student's time and money is being wasted on material like this that has no rational application to their practice or the real world. Absolutely no one else on the healthcare team actually speaks or thinks in the manner depicted in the book, and the vast majority of practicing nurses will never apply these concepts in practice in the fantastical way that they are "outlined" in this book. Because of this, it is patently unfair that nursing students are forced to try to ingest these goofy ideas that they can then never discuss with any other member of the healthcare team without being looked at like they were insane.Nursing education is already incredibly difficult, and it is unethical that nursing students are being constantly bombarded with this kind of material when they should be spending much more time learning hard science, pathophysiology, anatomy, and pharmacology. The book even lamented about academic emphasis on empirics rather than this stuff which will never help a nurse from being sued for malpractice. That kind of nonsense is why nursing remains marginalized in the health care world. Nursing education needs to stop robbing their students with classes and material like this.

Not too happy
I wasn't too excited about this book simply because it didn't come with an access code.I thought all new books as indicated by Elsevier should have the relevant access code for full access to the course resources, which was the primary reason for me buy a new book. Thus, I'm simply disappointed.
