Great concept, weak button build
I really like this clock for the dual alarms, atomic clock, battery backup, adjustable volume & brightness. I had the previous model (same design plus outdoor temperature sensor) for years before it stopped working. I looked at other disk alarm options & came back to this.I gave 4 stars for brightness because it's still too bright at the lowest setting for my spouse who likes super dark. I just set the clock face down at night. All good!! (Another PLUS that the clock is made in a way that I can do that & flip it back up when Iwant to see the time.)I've noticed that at least one of the buttons (down button for time) on my new clock doesn't work well & can take multiple presses to get one activation so not well built there. Cheap feel. That said, as someone who keeps my phone out of the bedroom, this is a great option. I'm very happy with it.

Pretty Solid...Just Some Very Minor Quibbles
The good:-Well-designed layout and use of color makes important information stand out-Wide range of brightness settings and volume-Easy to tell if alarms are on or offThe bad:-Alarm sound could be better-Atomic signal could be hard to receive depending on your locationThe ugly:-LCD display means there's absolutely no downward visibilityI was switching over from an older clock radio on which the snooze button was worn out (meh, I like to sleep). I liked the look of this clock and thought I'd give it a shot. What can I say--I like colors.Let's start with the good. The layout on this clock is very well designed. Yes, there's a date display and a temperature display (indoor temperature only--there's a model 13022 that measures outdoor temperature), but their displays are relatively small and rendered in a dark red so they don't draw your eye. The clock numerals are a nice soft white, and the two alarms are set off in their own color-coded zones. Alarms are turned on or off with a pair of switches on either side of the clock, and those switches are just as big as they look in the pictures. The pictures make them look like light switches, and that's exactly how they work and feel. When they're off, the clock clearly tells you by changing the alarm's time display to read 'OFF'. Each alarm can be set to sound on either weekdays, weekends or every day.Setting the time and alarm times is done with the five buttons on the front panel; first you set the hours, then you set the minutes (as opposed to other clocks where you have to hold down a 'set' button and wait for the time to cycle from the default midnight to whatever time you're looking for). There are about 8-10 levels of brightness; at the dimmest setting, it's very very dim, so if you like a dark room when you're sleeping, you'll probably like how dark this screen gets. But even then, it's still very readable in the dark, and touching the snooze bar on the top of the display brings the brightness up a few levels for five seconds or so. More on the display in a moment though...Now then...coming from a clock radio, I'm used to an alarm tone which came from a functional speaker. My old clock had a nice ramp-up feature that would start quietly and slowly increase in volume with a not-too-shrill tone. This thing...well, it's not unbearably bad, but it's a beeper, not a real speaker. And there's no ramping up of the volume; when it's time, it turns on at whatever volume you've set. It's a little shrill and shocking, but of course it's an alarm; if it were a pleasant sound, you might not wake up.As for the atomic clock signal, it's hard to say here. Where I live, it's difficult to get a signal from WWVB (the radio station the clock needs to tune to). I've had the same experience with other clocks trying to get that signal, and know that if you're in the fringes of signal, clocks can sometimes get bad or garbled data and scramble the clock (i.e. I've seen atomic clocks that say it's 7:34pm when it's actually noon). The very nice thing about this clock is that you can disable the auto-setting feature and just set the clock manually. There's a 3-AA battery backup to save your settings as well. Now back to that display. It's an LCD screen. You're going to have difficulty reading this clock if you set it above your head whilst laying in bed. The shelf on my bed's headboard on which I have my clock sitting is at exactly eye level as I'm laying in bed. Owing to the slight angle of the display itself, the digits are slightly dimmer looking at it in bed than they are standing next to the bed. It's perfect for me--at exact eye-level, it's still eminently readable and just a touch darker. If you set this on a nightstand next to your bed, you should be fine. Anywhere above eye level, though, and you're probably not going to be able to read it.All in all, it's pretty solid. I'm very happy with mine; I don't miss the outdoor temperature feature found on the fancier model (and I barely look at the indoor temperature that *is* displayed), and its straight-forward clear display is functional yet understandable at a glance. Aside from the lack of a radio and speaker (and with them higher-quality alarm tones), it's a very good clock that I expect to use for years.

Has all the feature of an alarm clock one would need
I liked this clock I got two of them, one for my wife and myself. Summaries of features I like about this unit.Atomic time setting: Clock displays go off indicating clock is resyncing with countries Standard Time signal to get the current time. Note this is the most misunderstood feature of Atomic time setting, just like an AM, and FM or Satellite radio needs to be able to receive the radio station signal to play the program that is being broadcast, so do these units need to be able to receive the time signal from where it is being broadcasted from. The secret is inside. Atomic clocks automatically synchronize to a radio signal called WWVB that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) broadcasts continuously from Fort Collins, Colorado. This signal transmits the official time from the Atomic Clock in Boulder, Colorado. Knowing this, one have to be able to see where in the room one can reactive this signal. A home can have construction material or electronic devices that can interfere with the WWVB signal. So in reality, there may be location of homes, environment or home constructions that prevent Atomic enabled devices to work. So it is not the units fault, but each users situation. In my case I know location iny room and positioning of the unit that allows these clocks to sync up; Finally if the room does not allow for the WWVB signal to be received there is a switch to disable this feature and the rest of the fantastic clock features are still available.Alarm: Dual; Displays the alarm time so does not require one to push or flip a switch to see what time is the alarm; Days in the week alarm is active; Easy side switch to turn alarm on and off; Volume level adjustable; Alarm 10 minute snooze time available.Display: All info of interest in presented like date, day, temperature, alarm time, alarm status, all displayed with different font size and color; Adjustable brightness; Good size of all information; Good viewable angle;Power backup: 3 AA batteries to sustain unit during no AC power. The display goes off during battery use for conserving power. One just needs to press the snooze button to see the display.USB outlet: for powering or charging a USB device including charging of a cell phone phone.Easy access buttons.Unit is nice compact size.Hope these comments helps.

Easy setup, good functionality.... doesn't last
Have had this clock for a few days now. Setup was very easy, including setting the time and both the alarms. There is a volume setting that covers both alarms on the back of the unit providing flexibility in how loud the alarm sounds. Also on the back is a display dimmer - I was easily able to set a brightness level that did not intrude on my sleep. The alarms are very easy to set and, so far, the clock is very accurate. Would definitely recommend this.Update: After nearly 2 years - the power won't stay on. The plug in the back is loose and has to be "jiggled" for the power to come back.

Visualize Alarm set times including OFF!
Excellent alarm clock. Displays alarm times in small display. Love the OFF alarm display when no alarm is set. Delivered on time! Very satisified!

Volumen bajo
Se ve bonito pero casi no tiene volumen, en México no se programa automático (era de esperar). Lo programe manual. No se atrasa.

Highly Recommend
I was very weary about buying this alarm clock after reading a lot of the reviews. But I figured, let’s just try it out. I loved that it has the date, time, indoor temperature, 2 alarm clocks and the ability for automatic daylight savings. It asked me what time zone I was in, and when it was time to change the time, I didn’t have to do it manually as it was done automatically. There is also a battery back up. So if there is ever a power outage, your clock still stays on because of the batteries and I don’t have to worry about it.I’ve read a few reviews that claimed that the screen is either too bright or not bright enough. There are a few brightness options which I loved. That way, it doesn’t wake me up in the middle of the night from the light. And the same thing was said about the alarm volume. Either too loud or not loud enough. Again, there are a few options for volume. You just have to play around and find the one that works for you.Overall, great purchase. Highly recommended.

and so far I like it. This clock has good controls
I have this clock for about two weeks now, and so far I like it. This clock has good controls, easy to set alarms, easy to snooze alarms and turn them off. Switch on the side is easy to find in dark and you won’t mistake it with snooze. Time sync with atomic clock works fine for my location, so I will never have to adjust time which is a very good feature. I also like the fact that you can set alarm for weekdays only so you don't have to remember to turn it back on after weekend. Display brightness is adjustable and I found a level which is not bothering me at night and visible during the day. I set alarm sound volume to the max and it's loud enough to wake me up. Backup batteries ensure that alarm will sound in case of power outage. As a bonus this clock has USB port for charging devices such as phones, ebooks, tablets, flashlights etc. It has only 500mA current, like regular computer USB port, modern devices could use 2A, but I guess for charging overnight 500mA is better since it’s easier on batteries. Display has good layout with time as a central most visible numbers, then it clearly shows alarm time and temperature with current day, month and year. I looked at many other clocks online and this one came as a first choice mostly because of display layout (it’s not cluttered and I could see everything in one glance) and easiness to set/snooze/turn off alarms, things which matter most to me in an alarm clock. So it’s a keeper. Now negative things. Or maybe not negative but things you should be aware of before you buy. First of all display viewing angle is great horizontally but not so good vertically. This clock is tilted up a little bit as you can see in pictures. My night stand when I keep my alarm clock is at about level of my eyes when I’m in bed, so I had to glue a pair of plastic stripes to bottom of the clock to see display clearly. Display now is positioned vertically at 90 degrees, not tilted. Clock is still sits stable and it’s not tipping forward. Another thing is that snooze works for 8 minutes and I think you can hit snooze for about 5 times before alarm will be turned off for today. You can’t set snooze time period, 8 minutes is hardcoded. I don’t remember exact numbers though. Maybe it’s 7 minutes and 8 times, but you got the idea. If you don’t want alarm keep going when you having breakfast you’ll have to turn it off with side switch, but then you have to remember to turn it back on. Basically you can turn it off and turn on right away – this will stop the alarm for a day. In my opinion it’s not very convenient, but since display clearly shows if alarm is on or off – it’s hard to forget to turn it back on. There’s no any indication of backup batteries state and it’s not clear when to replace them. That’s all shortcomings I could think of. With all that said I think it’s best alarm clock in this class for now for what I wanted from alarm clock. Besides I have a weather station from Acurite, for few years and I expect this clock to be as durable as Acurite weather station.Just wanted to add after a year of using this clock. It still works fine but I found strange glitch. 2 times the clock got frozen for some reason. It didn't ring in the morning and all controls were not working at all. Alarm time was blinking as if it should at alarm time, but there was no sound. None of buttons worked as well. Reset button fixed this problem, but what surprised me most is that in 3 weeks Acurite support didn't replay to my questions other than automatic message saying that my questions was received. So I don't know if that was clock firmware glitch or something with electrical interference or it's just my clock is not 100% defect free. Now if I have an important event such as flight scheduled in the morning I set alarm time on my phone as well since this clock might not sound alarm once in every 6 months...To be fair this story has happy ending. Acurite Support contacted me and said that they sent me a new clock. Very impressed by that, I really like this clock and I'm glad that Acurite stands by their products.

Has an atomic clock sync for PERFECT time
This clock is amazing. I picked it up for my wife's birthday as she was getting miffed she only had one alarm, her other alarm clock was too loud for me etc etc. This device can even set individual weekend and week day alarms. The only feature lacking is the outside temperature. I own another Acurite product which has outside temperature and humidity from a sensor I've strategically placed outside. The sensor doesn't care what other Acurite device picks up it's signal. That would have made this alarm clock absolutely perfect.

Overall happy with clock, but alarm switch failed.
I have had this clock for a couple of months. Overall I am very happy with this clock. I puchased the clock for the atomic time feature and for the extra display features not available with other alarm clocks (date, temperature, alarm settings etc). Everything you need to know is displayed. The atomic clock setting worked perfectly.Setting and turning off the alarm for other clocks I owned was cumbersome. Setting the alarm for this clock looked much easier. I liked the simplicity of the alarm toggle switch. Plus, unlike my other clock, this clock displays the alarm time.I'm retired and rarely use the alarm. The 2nd time I used the alarm, the switch for the right side alarm didn't work. The left side switch is ok. I was disappointed the switch stopped working on its 2nd use.Even with the failure of one alarm switch, I would recommend this clock.
