Awesome
This is one of two books that I bought to prepare for my dental school interview and it was my favourite. Dr. Brandon is an engaging writer and gives you helpful insights into the profession. It helped immensely with my preparation, which I only had a week for, and reading this book worked for me, as I now have an offer to the dental school. It is also great that the book is so affordable and available on Kindle. Good luck!

Wonderful Advice for Aspiring Dentists!
Dr. Brandon has skillfully and concisely summarized the factors one should consider in whether or not they should be a dentist. He is very practical in his approach in presenting virtually anything and everything that should be considered before embarking on that path (pointing out all the while that it is a difficult one and not one suited to those not fully committed to its completion). If every profession or occupation had such a guide, I believe we would all be happier in our work. This book is an absolute must read for any person who might be considering dentistry as their life's work. As for me, where is that application?"Keep true to the dreams of your youth." - Friedrich von Schiller

A Must Read
Dr. Brandon's "Dental School: Preparation, Survival and Success" should be on any potential dental student's list to read. His writing style is easy to read and his insight on the topics will help any student go through the decision making process with an understanding of the whole of dental school. The book describes dental school course work in generals and specifics letting the potential student know what they are getting him/herself into before embarking on the journey. His advice and tips about survival and success should be heeded - don't fall into the "traps" or get sucked in to societal "norms" if they aren't your "norms." I particularly appreciated the part of the book that dealt with 4-handed dentistry and dental assistants. As a former clinical dental assistant, and now as a dental assistant educator, hearing a dentist tell future dental students to appreciate their assistants is rewarding! Read with pleasure and joy, but read most of all for the knowledge Dr. Brandon shares about the profession he loves.
