use by date was from 2021
the syrup came out VERY dark. it is supposed to be extra light. this happens with age.

Product expired by 2 years and dented can
Product Dented and expired by 2 years. this is the second occurrence!!

The can doesn't have a lid, so I had to store this LME (liquid malt extract) in another can after opening the original, but the quality of the extract itself is top notch. It is very fresh, good flow, very light color, 2 years away from the expiration date at the time of purchase. I use it in bread dough to control fermentation rates without making dough sweet to taste and to improve ripe dough aroma and this Extra Light LME does not discolor nor contributes any unwanted tastes or aromas to the dough, unlike darker LMEs. Very nice!
