Q: Can this be attached to a 20lb Propane tank with some kind of an adapter?

am not sure - I attached it to an outlet in a gas fireplace

Q: Is it really 1/2" or 3/8" Thee are conflicting answers. We need NPT 1/2". Someone on the reviews says it's only 3/8". Which is correct?

The burner itself has 3/8" NPT - you can get an adapter from 3/8" to 1/2".

Q: need to add an end cap to my order. can this be use with glass embers? to you have a whole new set for glass embers and remote control

U dont need an end cap... one end is already plugged from the inside. .. as far as using with glass, should be no problem... and for a remote control, that needs to be purchased separately with a compatible valve assembly.

Q: One end has a plastic plug. Do I remove or leave. If leave will it melt under heat?

the plug will not melt and needs to stay in place as it stops the gas from flowing all the way through the pipe and instead forces the gas to exit through the burner holes. It may be best to call a local gas plumber to install this unit if you are uncomfortable with the install.
