Over a year later and the costing is still good.

These G12 heads fill a gap between G1 and G2. (or Remo Ambassador and Emperor)They are a single 12mil ply so they sound like single ply...but they are just a little heavier and durable and controlling. I have found G1s too light and G2s too heavy. These are in a real good place between!

After years and years of using the same set of coated G2's on my toms, I wanted to try something different. They're great heads, extremely durable and versatile, but over the years my playing has become jazzier and I wanted a head that would have a fuller tone and more responsive feel at lower volumes. I also like to rock out, so I needed a head that could do justice to both lighter and heavier music.This head fit the bill perfectly. It opens up with the lightest stroke, yet has a rounder, lower tone than a typical 10mil single-ply head. It strikes a nice balance between the sensitivity of a G1 and the focus/attack of a G2. Not "boingy" like a G1 can sometimes be, and ghost notes don't sound like plastic as with the G2. It should also be said, the Level 360 heads tune up like a dream. It produced a nice, centered pitch and full tone even before I started going around from lug to lug for fine-tuning. Very impressive.Definitely check this head out if you like to play a wide variety of styles and dynamic levels.

Gives that single ply sound with a little extra durability. Good all around versatile snare head.

I have Evans clear EC2's on all of my toms and they are okay, but they don't have the bounce I am looking for and the tone lacked the focus I wanted to hear. So, I've started replacing them and began by putting a coated G12 on my 8" tom. Instantly, I have a warmer and more focused, singing tone with just the right amount of sustain.

Right fit and sound!

This one's nice - and pretty balanced, but I could do with a little more attack and less sustain.I'll try one of the others next time. G2 maybe?
