It looks like a wimpy strip of fabric but it actually helps!
I self-diagnosed that I was probably experiencing trigger thumb from mountain biking. Saw some references online to an $80 hard plastic thumb brace, but I was hesitant to try it because I'm a petite woman with pre-teen sized hands and NOTHING is made with me in mind, and didn't want to deal with a weird return policy. Tried this on a lark and it actually really helped! The neoprene-like fabric added just enough support on the exact right part of my thumb, was comfortable to wear all day and still be able to type on a keyboard, and was adjustable to fit my small hands. I wore it for about two weeks while I took a break from my bike, then when I started again I was able to identify what hand position was causing irritation. I wore the brace off and on again for another week (was starting to get lazy, lol), adjusted my bike grip, and now I think I've got it under control. PS I covered the small but unsightly blue logo with some black paint.

I like it because it reminds me not to do anything ...
I like it because it reminds me not to do anything crazy with my thumb while my tendonitis is healing. If I put it on tight enough to get actual support, my finger starts tingling. I will use it when I go out so I don't have to wear my big brace and for when I am relaxing around the house. The Velcro is very good quality and I think it will last quite awhile.

no more unintentional fist-bumps?
The simplicity of this design appeals to my minimalistic sensibilities. It is easy enough to put the strap on, and once it is on it supports my thumb well without interfering with the rest of my hand. In most other splints and supports I feel like my hand is being suffocated by fabric and plastic, but this one is different. To be sure, it does not fight as bitterly to keep my hand open, but the support that it does provides is surprisingly helpful and effective. I know that our hands are all different, but heck it's not that expensive. I'd say its worth a try. I am optimistic that if I continue wearing this device I will no longer find myself giving my friends fist-bumps when I meant to give them high-fives.

Does not help for the arthritis in my thumb

Just okay
Does help to stabilize my thumb somewhat. I wear it over my compression gloves but do have to adjust it frequently. I probably need something more solid to help with thumb joint pain. I also feel it's a bit overpriced for what it is.

Really works for me
I have tried a lot of thumb braces and this is the first one that has really worked well for me. As soon as I put it on I could feel relief it from the pain in my thumb joints. You have to tightrn it up nice and snug and it's more like a pressure bandage them a stiff brace, but if you have pain in the joint at the base of your thumb (mine is worst when I crochet) this may help. Probably the only one I hadn't tried before this was the Push one but the $89 price was just too much. This one puts pressure on that specific joint and make it pain free to grip with my thumb again! I crocheted for about 30 minutes tonight and it never hurt. I am very pleased with this one and will buy again when I wear this one out.

Useful other ways
When used per the instructions and the picture, it does not help my Basil thumb arthritis pain, in fact, it makes it worse, but the simplicity and flexibility of the design, I found that if you play with it and adjusted it different and rapping in different ways, depending on where your pain is, which can be in various different sides of the joint each day, it becomes quite a useful brace and quite comfortable, so I gave it 4 stars, because it's very flexible in the ways you can use it... In other words, you don't have to use it just the way it is in the picture. I find tge material soft, user friendly and comfortable. Get creative for relief... 😌

Disappointed in craftsmanship
Though this product was extremely helpful the 1st week or 2, it quickly began to unravel and come apart as the seams are not stitched all the way around AT ALL. After such a short time, it looks as though it is several n years old and will soon be unwearble. I'm very disappointed as the concept of it, helped my thumbs tremendously.
