Women of the New Testament (LifeGuide Bible Studies)

We are using this book right now in our Sunday School class. It is very good and the questions are well thought out and solicit good class participation. We are covering 2 chapters per Sunday and that is a pretty good pace but it could be lengthened to cover just one chapter per week. It is a short booklet and the bible readings are given but not included. A short paragraph or two sets up each session. At the end of the booklet is a leaders guide. It's pretty brief but does give some good suggestions about how to answer the questions.So, it's a short booklet with good questions but not much reading material. The leader guide is in each booklet and is not too detailed but a good starting place.The class seems to really enjoy the book and questions.The class

Book was as expected.

I chose this book to use for my Sunday School class of women. It is an Easy lesson book because we read from the Bible and then answer questions about the woman and reflect on how this lesson can be applied to our lives. I think we are learning from the lesson. However, the lessons only take about 30-40 minutes. Each lesson is a woman from the bible.

I'm going to use this for a new wome'ns group forming this month. It's short, so we'll get through it by the end of the year and will be a good starter study as we get to know each other and find out more about the women's experience with Bible study.Like others have commented, there's not a lot of detail about each woman, although a lot of the women don't have much about them in the Bible. I'll look for some additional material about each woman to share with the group. I think the studies are so light-weight that we can do two chapters a week without any problem.My big disappointment was what the author chose to discuss with Mary & Martha. I was expecting serving Jesus vs sitting at his feet, but it was about their reactions to the death of their brother. But I guess it's ok since it's a little different way of looking at them.The LifeGuide series are usually pretty good, if not terribly in depth.

Since this book had to be ordered a second time, I s'pose I'm ok with it. The book itself is fine its just that I was inconvenienced for over a week.

Very good study! Would recommend it to anyone doing a Bible Study. Very informative and interesting and enjoying it very much.
