Love These Games - Excellent Improvement
Love this version of Resident Evil. It maintains the same dark, creepy, atmospheric graphics style of the 2002 GameCube release, but with updated resolution and controls that make the quality of life in the game a lot more enjoyable. Gone are the tank controls (unless you want them); instead, it’s a 3D movement stick that remembers the direction you’re running when the camera angle changes. This is so much better than the tank controls, and better still than a full 3D render that would ruin the cinematic camera angles. That’s the thing that remains so relevant, especially today when video games are more cinematic than ever - the camera angles in Resident Evil make you truly feel watched, uncomfortable, disoriented, unsure, and scared of what you can’t see. Some might complain about a lack of camera controls, but the angles are so thoughtful and so purposeful that a controllable camera would neuter this game.I haven’t played RE1 or RE0 since the early aughts, so having a gorgeous release on the Switch is such a welcome thing. I wish RE1 had a physical release (I think there was an international physical copy, but it’s prohibitively expensive). Still, I experienced no lad and a very tolerable amount of load time. The 1996 edition was agony to go through doors. This one is faster than GameCube, but slower than the modern PlayStation consoles. That’s not that bad to me. I don’t feel like it makes the game drag, and the opening doors actually provide atmosphere in this game instead of merely disguising a long load time.If you like the RE series, this would be one to consider. I was a grown adult when the remake of RE1 came out, but I’m just as enthralled now as I was then. I will say that gamers accustomed to the run and gun style more familiar later in the series might find inventory management and strategic saves clumsy and irritating. I don’t - that’s just how games were in 2002 - but if you feel like you need to kill everything that moves, you probably won’t get far in this game.Old games don’t feel sorry for you, but thoughtful remakes such as this take the edge off. Buy it!!

It was new with code
I was very suspicious of this purchase the game comes with a digital code and if it's used you only get 1 of the 2 games. The game came today and the code worked everything is new like described.

Only comes with one cartridge
Only comes with one game cartridge you have to download the other ones. The whole point of buying a cartridge is so you don't have to download anything.

Great game and glad to have it.
Just received my copy of this game and I love it. Love the Resident Evil series and definitely a plus to have it portable. I was skeptical on ordering it online; because of the many who people had problems with code that comes with this either being missing or used already, but mines came with it unused thankfully and I am glad to have both games on my switch. (Wish Capcom would have gone the extra effort on putting both games on the cartridge)
