You get what you pay for.
These flash drives work fine for smaller files where you don't have to transfer a lot of information. This way you don't notice how slow they are. But save video files or a large number of pictures and you might as well catch up on a few texts, have lunch, or write a short novel.One other annoyance is that sometimes if I leave the drive in a PC and restart it, the drive won't be recognized and the PC will tell me that it is not working properly. Just popping it out and plugging it back in fixes the issue.I have had no data loss problems so far. These are not my first choice in flash drives, but the price is really hard to beat and if your transfer volume is not that big, these are just fine.

Perfect for what I needed.
Bought this to keep my music on so I can plug and play direct into the USB port in my car. Worked perfect. Can't wait to load this puppy up with my collection of 90s/2000s music.It even has a light that lets you know it's working, and a place to attach a wrist strap, or something similar if like me you tend to lose tiny tech easily.**ADDED**After giving this rating I have now bought the 5 pack along with some wrist lanyards to attach them to to make them easier to hang on to in transit from place to place.

It is for your desk, not for your pocket in my opinion
Its working fine, just fine. But understand that the "plug" doesnt recess or have a fold over cover to protect the contact points. It has a little clear, soft plastic cap that slips on and there is the pocket issue. There really isnt anything to keep the little clear cap on. It can come off and your contact plug can get, in my case, jean lint collecting in it. It will be fine for home of office, or in a brief case or computer bag. But I carry one in my pocket almost all the time so I wont be able to do that with this one. If you dont, it will serve you just fine.

Good value, but these things are slow as molasses. USB1 speed at best.
I tried 3 of these out of 5 - copying a 4 GB contiguous file to them takes anywhere between 20-25 minutes. A true USB2 drive should take a lot less than that (no more than 15 minutes). In contrast, i copied this same file (it's an iso for ESXi 7) to my 128GB USB3.0 drives - the file copied in less than 3 minutes.I also tried copying directories with smaller files to these drives - only to become frustrated with the amount of time...This may work for college students and others who have the time to wait...I'm returning mine.

Price effectice USB Flash Drive for media distribution
The price per USB may it a good choice to load thousands of pictures on the USB Flash drive and give to the web and media team for them to select the best of the newest photos of the young people for their particular group. Before, I always burned to DVD for distribution. Now with less DVD players in laptops, a newer method that is cost effective.What was good about the drive was being able to take images from multiple computers and copy it to the drive and effectively search and ignore duplicates.
