I have a Whirlpool Estate Dryer and the Clothes were not drying or took a long time. So thought I would try a Heating Element and Thermal Cutoffs replacement before buying a new Dryer. First I got the Serial and Model Number from inside the Dryer Door and since each kit had different types of Thermal Cutoffs, I took off the back panel to check what type the Thermal Cutoffs applied to my model ( there is one on the bottom and one up top). And then matched to the appropriate kit for replacement (this was really important because of the jumper wires and connectors to the Thermal Cutoffs). I believe the replacement Heating elements that are burning out mentioned in other reviews because the Thermal Cutoffs were not the correct replacements, or the wires were not correctly connected or they left in the original Cutoffs that were bad to start with. This was an easy install and the new heating element is working Great and Clothes are drying quickly. I looked down the back when Dryer is operating and can see the Heating Element glowing and cutting off after awhile, so I know the Thermal Cutoffs are working as well...

Looks like good quality but deceiving I’m a sucker this is my third purchase last about 3 months and crimp burns off element. Easy to install and cheap to buy I guess that keeps me coming back. About a quarter the price of oem part but it last a couple years

Excellent price, excellent quality. Got 13 year old dryer back in business. Also ordered belt and thermal fuse. Watch videos that are out there, this is an easy job, but pay attention to connections. This heater element kit comes with a jumper that replaces the old style connector.

We have a twenty plus year old dryer that usually runs like a Swiss watch. The original heating element element lasted about 18 years. Replaced with this Dryer Heating Element and it burned out after two years, two months. Replaced again with same, however upgraded 279838 & 279816 Dryer Heating Element with Dryer Thermal Cut-Off Kit and this one burned out after two years six months. As others have mentioned, coil got so soft it the top two rows, front and back, sagged, touched one below and shorted out. One of the white clips was turned 90 degrees to right allowing the sagging. One of the internal wires to external probe appears melted and was completed disconnected, so no continuity. Appears to have poor quality materials and I'm really tired of revisiting this issue again for the third time in five years. The dryer is too much of a workhorse to put out to pasture just yet.

My dryer went out on Saturday. Opened the back- the element was broken in places. Ordered> delivered next day> installed> worked. Two day later, heat element stayed on even when dryer was not tumbling! Opened back > element had bent (presumably from heating) and touched frame causing "always on". I bent element back and it has worked fine since. Can not speak to longevity yet.

Loved the cost compared to having a repair guy. Was simple to Install.

Pro: Heating element fit my dryer as the product description explained. My dryer gets warm again! Definitely pleased with my purchase.Note: One review complained the screw holes didn't match.. with a little push after getting the first screw secured, I didn't have much of a problem, not enough for a con. *Do the right side first, it's harder to get to*Con(ish): the thermostat (wp3977767) is different in this set. This kit has a jumper wire instead of the 3 or L prong and parts to rewire if needed. It appears this is a common replacement part and not a problem for a moderately skilled handyman, plenty of videos show using the jumper wire. Probably a non-issue for most folks, I just do not trust myself enough to do the minor rewiring required to make this part work so I'll be ordering another thermostat ($6) and pitching the one that came with this kit. Definitely worth pointing out to potential buyers. I wouldn't let that prevent me from buying this product, the savings on the heating element alone is worth it. If you are concerned about rewiring, take the back off your dryer, take a quick look to see if yours has the L prongs before you order and grab another thermostat and add it to your cart.The top thermostat was an exact replica, just unplug and plug in the new one.

Received the kit and installed. Less than 2 months later the heater stopped working again. Requested a replacement kit and they were very prompt in sending out a new kit. When installing the new parts, found it was just the thermostat that was bad. Replaced the thermostat and the drying if working again. We will see if this one will last longer.

Excellent service once again. The heating element was exactly the part that I needed to fix my dryer. It arrived earlier than I expected and worked perfectly. I will definitely use them again

Bought this Sep/2021. Canada. Dryer Model ordered for was Whirlpool YLER7647EQ2 (IMPORTANT- These are very good prices ( I can't speak to value yet as there have been lots of negative performance reviews saying the element burns out very fast within weeks/few mos) For your info- that is ALWAYS a FIRE HAZARD! However, I ordered anyway with hope those negative reviews are down to improper kits for the dryer model in question- I'll update if it fails for me early). These kits fit many models and are often the same for different manufacturers, so check CAREFULLY to find your dryer model # with the specific kit you order. AS far as install goes? Dryers all have a typical number of same working components that affect the performance. These are included with the kit for most dryer problems. The Heating Element, and the included Temp Sensors must all be replaced together to ensure safe operation. Also, ensure when replacing these parts you do a thorough internal cleaning of the dryer (You will find plenty of accumulation of lint often clogging the interior of the back - if you do all these things at install, the dryer is basically like a brand new "rebuilt" machine- so if yours is in good cosmetic shape, its do-it-yourself parts that swap out and go straight back in within minutes at the rear of the dryer. Simply remove the back panel and the components are visible and obvious. In my case, timer was no longer advancing on Auto-Dry, but was working on Timed Dry, eventually my existing heating element overheated (fire hazard) and cracked while installed in the dryer causing additional problems of no heat. The Timer was NEVER a problem even though it presented as a problem initially. Point is, the kit here affects how the Timer performs (affects temp safety cut-offs, etc thus affecting the Timer advancing). Bottom line- dryer is like new within mins of receipt of this kit, multiple uses so far and good. No overheating or immediate failures experienced yet as in many of the reviews (just 6 loads done so far but working good). Definitely a great price value if the parts do not fail as mentioned in many other reviews, but I'll update this review if necessary.
