...but it can't save them all. I have several OLD 24V battery packs that were horribly abused during their life and have been idle for a couple years. I started with the pack that had the highest indicated voltage (18V) and the Save-A-Battery actually recovered two of the packs to 85% - 90% state of charge. The others were just too far gone. NOTE: The unit will indicate battery error several times until the battery gets to a certain voltage level and then the unit will maintain the battery without error. Though I have not measured it, it also appears to maintain a higher state of charge than the OEM charger for a "new" battery pack. Time will tell if it's worth the higher price.

I have a man-lift that uses 2-12v batteries for a 24v system. It has an on-board battery charger, but it either all or nothing for charging. Probably cost me several sets of batteries over the years. This one has the maintenance feature so we can leave it plugged in all of the time and always have a fully charged system without boiling off all the liquid.

These are nice. I bought one each for my dozer and excavator to maintain the batteries during the winter. To make them easier to use I made pigtails that stay on the batteries permanently so I don't have to use the clip, and more importantly do not have to worry about someone putting it on backward.

I received it and hooked it up per its minimal instructions. I left the unit connected to my 24V battery and returned about 2 days later. All acid leaked out due to overcharging. This unit never went into maintenance mode but kept charging.If you have expensive battery, I would not recommend this product.

These chargers are some of the best you'll find, they are as good as the Battery Tender but will charge as high as 4 amps, where the Battery Tender will only go up to 1.5 amps. I have several of these Save-a-Battery chargers and they are excellent quality. I like them so much I got this one for an aircraft, to keep the 24v battery charged.
