The carafes are sturdy but also not heavy to lift. The little lids that snug down in the carafes allow you to pour from the carafe without removing the lid, yet they fully cover the carafe’s opening. They’re very easy to clean. And they’re elegant. We were glad in the end that we chose this option over a less expensive wine/juice carafe with a plastic lid. And because of the hard borosilicate glass, these carafes will grace the table for a long time without showing wear.

Like others have said the glass seems fragile, but I received it without a chip. Love the spout and the easy lightweight pour. It's large and I hesitated spending this much money when there is the much cheaper (1/2 the price) Hiware brand carafe with exactly the same design (but apparently not affiliated with Eva Solo), but the quality of Eva Solo seems good.

Now that my children don't allow me to store drinks in plastic bottles, I was using a glass carafe which held only one liter and leaked when you tried to shake it (even though it was "technically" sealed). I love this. It is totally sealed when you shake it, yet when you turn it to pour, the liquid pours out easily. And it is a good large size. I make fresh lemonade for myself and this is the perfect way to store it. It was a little pricey, as are all of Eva Solo designs, but that is probably because they are so beautiful.

First impression is this is very nice and elegant looking water jug. What sets this apart from other plain water jug is if you want to you could use it as fruit infuser. Because top piece has a lid that keeps the fruits in its place while allowing you to pour out water this works well as infuser to make fruit infused water. 1.4 Liter size is also perfect. Not too small to have to keep refilling, and just about the right size to fit in the door of your refrigerator.

This is a lovely carafe, I fill it with bottled water every day and keep it on the kitchen counter to remind me to drink a few glasses a day. I like that I don't have to unscrew or unplug the lid for each use. Easy to pour, no drips, thanks to the leakproof pour spout, yet it remains completely sealed when not being poured.
