Very nice design. Unfortunately, the shades crack easily and electric wiring is a fire hazard.
Very nice design. Unfortunately, shades are so fragile and crack when you trying to perform any adjustment or changing a bulb. I am one shade short and can't find a way to replace it. It worked for couple weeks until yesterday (just one day after the return period) when lights started to come on and off when turning on the switch. I called the electrician and the conclusion was that the unit has an imperfect contact and it is a fire hazard and it should be either fixed or replaced with a working unit. I thought that I can work with the seller to replace it, but the return period ended two days ago. Now I am stuck with a unit that does not work and even I fix it, I am still one shade short. Paying almost $300 for something that stopped to work so soon, it is so disappointing because we like the unit's design. I purchased other 2 Quoizel CLT1714BN units to match and they have a similar problem with the shades, but they work. If I don't fix this unit and find a source for the cracked shade, I need to replace the other two units as they were installed to match. That would be another $450 loss. One came cracked and one scratched, but the seller, other than AMAZON itself, was nice to send me replacement for the shades. Bottom line, I am even afraid to change a bulb and I am a very careful soft handed person. I have other appliances in house and they are not as fragile. The metal part is well done, but the shades are poor quality and the wiring seems also poor quality. The link to contact the seller (AMAZON itself) disappeared on Amazon site and if the seller (AMAZON) would be so kind to contact me to address this situation, otherwise, I am not provided with a method to contact the seller. AMAZON's decision to remove this product from its sold directly indicates poor quality and AMAZON knows it. I would be happy to change the rating to something that matches the quality of product plus quality of service to address an issue. Until then, this is almost $300 loss and I am not sure that I want to spent anything buying from AMAZON going forward. Hopefully, AMAZON reads reviews on their products and will contact me since I cannot contact them.
