Examination Review for Ultrasound: Abdomen and Obstetrics & Gynecology

I used this book to study for the Abdomen registry and passed the first time with over 70 points to spare. I only used this book to study. The book is concise and has great breakdowns of important pathology and anatomy that you need to know. The online services were also very helpful. It allows you to take "practice" ADMS tests and then it breaks down the score so you know if you're really weak in one area. It even provides you with detailed answers to the questions you got wrong. Very helpful book, would recommend for anyone about to take their ABD or OB/GYN registries!

This book included most of the newer topics from the Ardms for abdomen that the older version didn’t. Since it’s new, there were some errors (uploaded the pics) that I found on the first chapter. Overall, it’s a great book to study for the boards and to use as a reference! The online question bank is extremely helpful and tests your knowledge. I also used Davies Abdomen which didn’t help much when I took the Ardms abdomen exam recently. Thank you Penny for publishing a newer version to help us pass the boards!

This book is extremely helpful for new or experienced sonographers aiming to achieve a credential, or to have as a guide in the clinical setting. This is not my first purchase from this author, and as always, he updates appropriately with what is actively being seen in the clinical setting, as well as, on current ARDMS boards. The layout of this book is easy to read with excellent images and tables to demonstrate the pathology being described. The review questions in each chapter are also a great way to test your knowledge.Definitely worth the investment.

Used only this book for my ob/gyn boards and just googled lots of pictures. Honestly this book is what made me pass! The online questions that are provided I did maybe 600 of them and they were very helpful too! HIGHLY recommend if you want to pass just read and write notes from this book and you’ll be golden! FANTASTIC book to have! Penny does a great job at being concise yet precise in his writing. I studied this book and was able to SUCCESSFULLY pass both my boards of OB/GYN and ABDOMEN. I think this book by itself was excellent, especially for the OB/GYN board. The Abdomen board was tough! Definitely use this book as one of your resources but my advice is to venture out to other books as well. But all in all, I do not regret this purchase at all. Two thumbs up!

The written information in this book is very helpful, however, in my version, the way the images are printed make many of them hard to see or completely unrecognizable. Being that image identification is such a huge factor in this field, I am very upset with this. My friend ordered her book after me, from the same seller, and you can see the difference in the images. Her book (left) the paper is a brighter white and glossy, like the pages of a magazine, and then my book (right) the pages are the texture of newspaper. The images are so dark I cannot recognize any pathology or anatomy in some images, and then in her book they show up clear as day.

I cannot suggest this book enough! I loved how easy it was to read and comprehend! This book is full of updated information along with a new online question bank that I found particularly helpful in studying for registries! The online portion allows you to tell it what subject you would like "practice questions" on or you can just click the "all" option to quiz yourself on all the material. I definitely recommend this book to those who are about to take their registries!!

This book came highly recommended so I decided to use it as my main study material for my OB/GYN ardms exam. I had only 2 weeks to prepare. I passed with a high score. This book cuts to the chase and focuses only on what you need to know for the test. Also has a code for online mock exam. After studying this book I also used Edelman’s x-zone and took the ARDMS practice exam. I too HIGHLY recommend this book!
