This is THE style of claw cllipper to use! I'm just not sure if THIS brand is always precise. Mine wasn't.
I like this clipper, but it seems to me no different that the couple I got in a department store for less money. In my mind this is THE KIND of clipper to get for cat claws—opening the "scissors" creates a rounded aperture which closes around the rounded claw when you squeeze the scissors to "cut" motion. Picture that for yourself—instead of a two-bladed scissors each blade possessing a straight side, squeezing down on a rounded surface. You are going to get uneven pressure on the claw and it is going to sort of squash it down to a straight shape and then cut it.With the rounded blade, the scissors are going to arrive at the surface of the rounded claw at the same time all around the claw, and the claw will not be squashed and then cut, it will be cut evenly all around it.MY pair, however, has a little resistance as it closes, like it wasn't machined finely enough, or wasn't "quality-control" tested. Just a little rubbing together as the blades close, before they should. I don't really know whether this has an effect on their performance or their longevity. I was going through a busy part of my life at the time i got them, and chose to ignore it. I'm sure I could have exchanged then. Amazon is perfect that way. But, again, I'll say that this it THE style of claw clipper to use!! Much easier to manipulate than the guillotine style ones, because we have been using scissors since childhood, and our fingers remain in the handles while clipping. You don't have to reposition them with each claw.I might as well mention here—I took advice I'd heard on TV and online about claw clipping. First, it's important to do for indoor cats especially. Second, please decide upon claw clipping (and devices like "Sticky paws" tape or spray on solutions ) to solve sofa shredding problems. NEVER EVER declaw a cat. Make sure you have plenty of sisal surfaces for scratching. (You don't want them to get conditioned to like carpet. Sisal seems to last and last! ) There's tons of advice about scratching posts etc online. JUST DON'T DECLAW A CAT!! And DO CLIP THEIR CLAWS!!

Better than any clippers I've tried
So I never leave reviews... However I really like these clippers. My cat is 3 years old and she recently went from an indoor/outdoor (mostly outdoor) cat to a strictly indoor cat due to a change in living situation. She is a tad bipolar and I knew she was going to be difficult about trying to trim her nails.. She recently has been scratching at the paint on the sides of the doors and damaging the walls. So I figured maybe her nails were too long and that was part of the issue. The first attempt my boyfriend held her between his arm and grabbed a foot and she tried to kill us.. Trying to trim just one nail was impossible because she just wouldn't stay still and was trying to squirm and hiss all over the place. After about ten minutes I got one paw done and decided to give her a break and try again later. The next day I decided to try again without my boyfriend's help. I wrapped her in a towel this time and just left her head and the one paw sticking out. This time I did the entire paw in less than a minute with very minimal squirming. I'm 99.9% positive its because of the clippers. The amount of pressure put on their nail is so much less than a usual guillotine type clippers I'm used to. I really love these clippers so far and really recommend them if your cat is a tad psycho like mine is. They're super easy to use and my cat is a known devil and she was totally chill about it once she realized it was quick and painless.

Fast and Effective
After I had -- once again -- slipped with the clumsy and large standard nail clippers on my cats, causing them to yowl in pain (and then cause me to yowl in pain from their shredded claws,) I knew I had to get a new pair of nail clippers if I wanted to keep my furniture and not harm my cats.I was quite happy to find these nail clippers: they're small and effective, while staying sharp enough to clip the claws with great speed-- and as anyone who knows cats, you need to be quick to keep up with their limited patience. The natural scissor feel is much more accurate than the silly "punch-card" nail trimmer I had before, allowing me to just slip the scissor onto the claw at the right place, then move it to the next claw before the cat can squirm away.Overall I am very happy with the product and would recommend it to any of you cat-lovers out there who do the moral thing and keep your cats clawed---but still want furniture in the house. There is one small downside, and I do hope the designers fix this in the next batch: The very tips of the scissors can catch on each other as the scissors are closing. You should bevel that contact point down at an angle to get the smoothest scissor action.

Compact, but thick-bladed
The main reason I really like these is that they’re small, like regular human (or baby) nail scissors. This is perfect for me, as I am fairly small, and perfect for my cats, as they are tiny. We’ve had some ‘multi animal’ nail clippers before which were really really big tools, and they were simply too large for using on my cats. These ones are able to be so much smaller because they’re specifically for cats; they wouldn’t be any good for something like a dog, which have very large, thick nails. Their compact size also helps to gives you great control and makes them less frightening to use for both human and cat. It’s also definitely a mark in their favour that they have a kind of rubbery covering on the handles, which gives them excellent grip. The reason I’ve knocked off a point is because the blades themselves are quite thick. This is probably by design, as the product seems to be carefully thought out, but I don’t know the actual purpose, and I’ve found it makes it a little difficult to judge where on the nail to cut, as you need to tread a careful path between cutting the nail far enough down to both be useful and to minimise how often you have to do the job - cats don’t tend to enjoy it - and not hitting the quick (cats have a ‘quick’ running up through their nails and you must never cut that far down as it causes pain and bleeding). I’ve also found that these clippers do sometimes split the nail, and again that seems to be to do with how thick the blades are. These are still the best option for cats that I’m aware of, but if they made a version with slimmer blades, I would definitely upgrade to that.

Don't know what I was so worried about ....
Was stressing out about clipping my cat's claws .... I've just done it and he didn't even NOTICE!! These clippers are great, you can't really go wrong with them as long as you make sure you don't go too high up the claw - I just did the very tipped bit where it was starting to curve. I can now carry Bushy over my shoulder without having to unhook him to put him down or have pinholes in my shoulders! Would definitely recommed this seller, they kindly sent me advice and links to video's too.

Cheap quality, don't believe the marketing
Based on the description I was expecting a really good quality pair of clippers, and I'm quite disappointed.First off they're not particularly sharp. You have to use a lot of pressure to cut a cat's nails, especially if they're thick. I slightly splintered a nail already.Visually they're not very good, especially the area where the blades are is quite roughly done, not paying attention to quality of finish. In terms of the movement it feels very stiff, not smooth, and is getting stiffer over time, adding to the impression of a lack of quality.I also find them quite uncomfortable.Looking at them I'm fairly sure they're a generic product from a Chinese factory with vet endorsement, I really don't believe any special attention has gone into their design.Would not recommend, look elsewhere I think.

Amazing!
Paul and Sarah are truly wonderful people who care immensely about animals - and if that isnt enough to buy the product then you'll be happy to know it also works amazingly well. The reason why I say this is because Paul and Sarah take the time out of their busy day to email each of their customers to make sure they are okay with the product as well as instructions on how to use them if you're a first timer! It's great to actually hear from the owner of the product when purchasing, especially when it's for your pets!! Being 22 I want to be able to make sure I'm doing well by my pets and it had gotten to the point where I started to notice my black cat Mimi was walking on the hardware floor like she was in a pair of heels, it had got to be uncomfortable for her. I didn't want to take her the vets and cause her unnecessary stress so I popped onto Amazon to see what I could find.As for the product, it arrived and within minutes Mimi was comfortable enough to let me clip her nails with this product. Some background on Mimi, she's a 4-year-old anxious little rescue who can get very skittish very quickly but she curled up to me after I let her sniff the clippers and let me do all four paws at once as it didn't trouble her in the slightest! Already this product is 5 stars for me and I will make sure I definitely tell my family and friends about this product.

The Best Cat Nail Trimmers
I have tried a number of cat nail clippers in the past none of which have worked, too hard to cut. These work like a dream. Easy to cut the nail. No pulling on the nail, sharp enough to quickly cut strait through with no distress. I can do his front paws when he is asleep without him even noticing. He doesn't like his back legs being touched but with another holding the paw firmly i can cut all the nails so quickly he is not bothered. No chance with any other brands i have tried. Much cheaper than the vet. Just cut the tips off not the whole nail, a small bit makes a big difference to the sharpness. Need to redo about once a month or when the nails start to feel sharp again.
