GOOD CONCEPT. POOR DESIGN
I PURCHASED MINE THROUGH BASS PRO SHOP AND IM HOPING THIS REVIEW IS SEEN BY SOMEONE WHO WAS GOING TO PURCHASE IT. BASICALLY THE CORDLESS THING IS GOOD IN THEORY SO YOU CAN TAKE IT OUTSIDE AND MAYBE SHARPEN A SHOVEL OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT BUT UNNECESSARY FOR HOME USE OR KNIFE SHARPENING AT HOME. THE GUIDE ANGLES ARE DIFFICULT TO USE AND FOUND IT IS ACTUALLY EASIER TO JUST USE THE BELT WITHOUT THE ATTACHMENT. THE WORST PART OF THE ATTACHMENT IS THAT IT HAS THESE LITTLE GUIDE ROLLERS THAT MAKE IT HARDER TO SHARPEN ANYTHING. FOR THE PRICE I WOULD RECOMMEND BUYING AN ACTUAL BELT GRINDER OR GETTING AN ELECTRIC SHARPENER THAT YOU PULL THE BLADE THROUGH RATHER THAN A BELT SHARPENER. THE WORK SHARP SHARPENER GETS THE SAME REVIEW IN MY BOOK

Cheap
Very light cheap plastic. Nowhere near worth what they're asking for these things. Also grinds so fast that you can damage your knives from the heat caused by the friction. Not worth it!

Save your money.
I purchased the Smith cordless life sharpener at a local outdoor equipment store. The first one lasted 2 weeks before the plastic belt guides literally busted into pieces. Took it back and they gave me a new one. It lasted two days. The new one will not turn on or charge. Save your money folks. Was really excited about my new Smith sharpener as I have used their products for many years....very disappointed.

Junk!! Do not waste your time or money. Both guide wheel fell apart first time using it.
