Great to have in case of an emergency.

Dangerous
This can opener has only 1 sharp cutting edge. This distorts the can making it likely to cut the user. I show a picture of another all metal opener which has 2 sharp edges, cuts evenly without distorting can or lid being cut and removed.

Definitely an experience to use.
I'd been looking into lightweight alternatives to your standard can-opener for camping/hiking situations where you try to minimize your carry load and these always seemed intriguing to me. I bought two because they were so dang cheep and I was surprised with how light weight they were, namely thanks to the light wooden handles. I was somewhat disappointing however as the handle on one of the two appears to have a long dark indention, either a crack in the wood before they put the finishing on, or perhaps the wood they used was sub-par and had a defect yet they used it and shipped it anyway. I was later somewhat upset to find that the shiny silver-tone metal used for the blade was just a coating over a brassy-colored metal. This outer coating gets scratched up pretty much the first time you open a can with it. I also believe this sub-par metal dulls very easily and after opening a few cans it has stopped cutting the can and just bending/tearing it. It's gotten to the point that to open the cans I have to place my hand over the sharp metal surface of the top to prevent the lid from lifting and bending the side of the can inward, and I'm always worried about cutting myself on the jagged edges. If someone were more willing to sharpen the blades and give this item some TLC I'm sure it'd be fantastic for long hiking trips. I still keep them in my kitchen though I've gone back to conventional can openers.

Did Not Work As Expected!
Previously had one with a wooden handle just like this one and an all-metal one lost in a move. The biggest and most important difference is the point. The point is not sharp or pointy enough to be hit with your hand and break into the can. Returned the first one as could not crack open the can even after smacking the end with something hard. With the replacement I still needed something hard to smack the opener end in order to crack into the can. Not senior-friendly that is for sure, per my 70 yr old mother. It does open the can once the can is broken into but a little too much pressure when opening the can bends the edge of the can. This leads me to believe that it would be strong enough to last. Only wish the pointed end was actually pointed enough to break through the can itself without a need of a rock and it would be perfect. I did keep it more an emergency use with a rock handy.

Only looks like the real thing
This item may look like the old-fashioned can opener, updated with a wooden handle, but it is very chintzy. The metal is chintzy and does not have enough thickness to cut metal cans the way the old ones did easily. Also, there is also a variation in the design from the old style that makes it not sit quite right on the edge of the can. I think the only way to find one of the same quality as the old time ones is to find an old time one at a thrift store or a flea market. The old ones actually sharpened themselves cutting on the metal cans, this one is ready to throw away after opening about 3 cans.

Fine given how cheap it is. But be CAREFUL if you've never used a stab-and-push before!
This product works as intended, but for sure the metal loop in the middle (which acts as your fulcrum when opening a can) could definitely be wider, which would make this a fair bit easier to use. If you have the right technique, it doesn't matter. But if you've never used a stab-and-push can opener before, I wouldn't recommend learning with this one -- if you do anyway, be VERY careful! I like having one of these around for when I get a can with an unusually shaped lip that my normal, crank style can opener won't grip onto. They're also very easy to clean completely. In absolute terms, I think this is a 3/5 product, but scaled for its $1.59 price, I gave it a 4/5.

Idea is nice. But very long delivery time and not strong enough
Idea is nice. But very long delivery time and not strong enough. Broken after several cans. But i guess it's hard to expect better for the price
