Great Pads
Fantastic service from Backcountry, from ordering to my door in one day. I have a set of Fox Launch Pro pads that I've been wearing for the last few weeks, a descent pad, maybe a little bulky but the sizes run very small. Even the L/XL was giving me problems after an hour or so of riding. I had these recommended to me by a friend and decided to spend the extra cash and give them a try. I ordered a pair in XL size and as soon as I put them on I knew they were what I had been looking for, Light, comfortable and a good level of protection. The fit is perfect, the pad stays in place without chafing. They are a lower profile than the Fox pads I was using and there are no problems wearing them under 3/4 shorts. They are a little expensive but I'm happy with paying the extra cash for a pad that I can actually wear without discomfort. I think POC now do a Downhill version that may be worth looking at if you need something more robust, after all these are more of a XC / Enduro pad.

Good protection, mild comfort, way better than gauze and cohesive wrap.
At 62 years old I did not bounce and roll during the last crash, I just sort of slid and left a lot of skin behind. As with other reviews they are mildly uncomfortable but you get used to it. True to fit, they stay secured, very protective and I don’t worry as much about the next time I die on the trail.

Perfect fit, great protection!
Love these pads. I have downhill parks day in this year, two big falls. and not one complaint. They stay in place well and feel comfortable on the decent. I did need to peddle some XC trail and would not want to ride these uphill but for downhill and park they are exceptional.

Too bulky and tight, not pedaling friendly.
I’m a small dude. Usually SM fits me well but I have to size up when it comes to these protection pads. These are humongous. It’s like putting a helmet on my knees. I bought a pair in MD and they still tight and uncomfortable to wear because the sleeve bunches up at the back of my knees. They are not pedaling friendly at all. Sure, they will protect my knees in the case of crash but protection pads need to be comfortable to wear. Maybe ok for downhill only. Take a chairlift ride and have fun with these on. I’m buying a pair from Fox. What a waste of money.

Definitely worth the price
Purchased these after using a set of Alpinestars Paragon Kneepads for about 5 months and couldn't be happier I made the switch. Unlike the Paragon's, the VPD's stay in place while pedaling. I don't have to pull them up after a long climb like I did with the previous pads I was using. I measured my legs and found I was in the upper limits of their medium but decided to purchase the large size since I read that they tend to run on the small side. The large fits perfect and so far I have not run into the rubbing issue on the back of my knee a few other people mentioned. Material and build quality are very good. The padding material seems to be similar to the Paragon's but a bit thicker and wider. Only downside I can see so far is that then tend to be warmer than other brands due to the thicker, less breathable material used on the back.

First impression these look like a quality product
Knee pads appear to be high quality. I'm 5'10" and 190 lbs and the large fits well without being uncomfortably tight. Originally I ordered mediums and could barely get them on/off. I bought these for a trip I'm taking out west, but will likely wear them on certain trails back home in Michigan. I will update after I get some rides in. Product appears to be quality, but was very disappointed how my package arrived. Guess I'm lucky these pads are meant to take a beating because it looks like they went through hell getting here.

Durable and comfy
I'm fairly new to the mountain bike world. So, after viewing a lot of knee protection and reading hundreds of reviews, this was my pick. Against my better judgment, I followed the sizing chart. They got here faster than they were supposed to, and my first impression when I took them out of the box is that they were gonna be bulky. I put them on and went for a ride. They fit perfectly and after a minute or so, I didn't even know I had them on. They're very comfortable and seem like they'll be great protection!!

Sizing is a joke
The size chart suggested I should wear a size S. However, I read some reviews that mentioned the sizing was off, so I decided to order both a Medium and a Large. The Medium was way too small, I couldn't even get it past my knees! The Large fits, but it's constantly slipping down, even with the straps tightened. I'm returning both items.

Prodotto fantastico , aderente al punto giusto , leggero e traspirante. Livello di protezione sopra la media. Utilizzo trail/enduro.

I absolutely hate wearing pads, but with me slowly getting more confident going faster, I thought it'd be best to invest in some protection. I'm a larger guy and it's nice seeing some companies giving Xxl sizes. These fit great and after 10 minutes or so, you forget you are wearing them!

Bought the POC Joint VPD Air Knee after smashing my knee one too many times on light trail rides. Super light (390 g in Large), crazy flexible straight out the box, and the wide neoprene sleeve with silicone grippers keeps them exactly where they should be – no slipping even on sweaty Welsh descents. VPD hardens properly on impact (tested that the hard way at BikePark Wales – walked away laughing). Been wearing them 6 months under Fox Ranger pants; vent really well, no stink, quick to dry. If you want proper protection without feeling like you’re wearing cricket pads, these are spot on. Best knee pads I’ve owned. Worth every penny of the £75.

Fit well and have saved my knees on a few occasions, I don't ski without them
