Bought mine refurbished and could not distinguish the difference. Battery life could be better, but just my opinion. I run the battery down to the point when the system says "Please Charge" as I have heard of overcharging issues, which plagues any battery operated systems.

Great prdruct great soun
I bought this one to replace one more than ten years old whose battery failed. it has the new USB-C plug but the cradle for the original still works with this one. The only beef I have is with the packaging it is shipped with, my titanium scissors were needed to to take it out of the shipping box container, and even then it took me five minutes. Have a boxcutter or another such tool handy for the unboxing.

Bose is the only product in audio that performs the best. Worth the price. No distortion, excellent clarity. Great bass. I also purchased in the past expensive Soundbar with subwoofer for my theater. Excellent products. I also had a vehicle with Bose system, excellent! For small room, areas. This speaker provides excellent sound for music & even movie. Dialogue is clear. Unbelievable. Love it. Also provides long lasting battery. I would like to provide full reviews for other Bose pay. Love it!

Love the Bose mini sound dock II great sound and clarity

Excellent sounding portable speakers
I haven’t found anything to dislike with these speakers, even with them being refurbished. The tone throughout the range is great. The bass is much better than any portable speakers I’ve previously had. I haven’t taxed the battery yet, but it appears to last several hours. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone, new or refurbished.
